Objectives: We conducted a confirmatory mapping survey to verify previous survey results, which suggested that lymphatic filariasis is endemic in some parts of Lagos State, Nigeria.
Methods: Finger-prick blood samples were collected from 2787 children aged 7-16 years in six local government areas (LGAs) across 153 targeted schools. Circulating filarial antigen (CFA) levels were measured using the filaria test strip, and LGAs were classified as endemic if there were up to three positive cases (d = 3).
Efforts to eliminate schistosomiasis in Africa have advanced, with most countries evaluating the impact of preventive chemotherapy (PC) on disease burden. WHO has recommended eight distinct methodologies for such assessment. Several studies have identified socioeconomic and environmental risk factors for infectious disease, but the relationship between these and knowledge, attitudes, and practices (KAP), and more importantly their web of effects on individual infection risk, have not previously been evaluated. Towards building momentum to address this challenge, we investigated the perception of medical and para-medical students about FGS, as well as the expertise of health care professionals in Anambra State, Nigeria.
Methodology: We conducted a cross-sectional survey among 587 female medical and para-medical university students (MPMS), and 65 health care professionals (HCPs) saddled with the responsibility of delivering care for schistosomiasis-affected persons.

Methods: Indoor and outdoor collection of mosquitoes was carried out in two intervention (IC) and two control communities (CC) at three different periods: pre-MDA (baseline), 2-3 days after MDA and 13-14 days after MDA. The density and parity rate of female Anopheles and Culex mosquitoes were determined and compared.
