Depth of Liver Invasion as a Novel Predictor for Outcome of Perihilar Cholangiocarcinoma.

The current American Joint Committee on Cancer (AJCC) pT classification was inaccurate in predicting prognosis for perihilar cholangiocarcinoma (pCCA). This study aimed to propose a novel classification based on the depth of liver invasion (DOLI) of pCCA. Patients who underwent major hepatectomy combined with caudate lobectomy for pCCA between January 2015 and June 2023 were reviewed retrospectively.

Background: Mutations in the isocitrate dehydrogenase 1 (IDH1) and IDH2 genes are important for both the integrated diagnosis and the prognosis of diffuse gliomas. The p.R132H mutation of IDH1 is the most frequently observed IDH mutation, while IDH2 mutations were relatively rarely studied.
