First Brazilian Series of Urologic Surgeries Using Versius Robotic Multiport Platform.

Purpose: This is the first series of urological conditions using the Versius Surgical System® platform in Brazil. We evaluated perioperative results, and surgeons' learning curve in Brazilian hospitals.

Materials And Methods: This prospective, multicenter study included urological surgeons certified on the Versius® platform and their respective procedures from May 2022 to August 2024.

Spinal articular dysfunction is common in athletic horses.

Background: Spinal articular dysfunction disrupts normal neural function and may lead to stiffness, pain or poor performance. Back pain is common in equine athletes, and it is a common complaint by horse owners requesting chiropractic evaluations.

Objectives: To describe the prevalence of spinal articular dysfunction in showjumping horses.

Collagen and collagenases in mare's endometrium with endometrosis.

Equine endometrosis is a degenerative and predominantly fibrotic condition resulting from progressive and irreversible multifactorial causes that influence the endometrium of mare. Tissue remodeling in the equine endometrium occurs as part of the pathogenesis of endometrosis, a process characterized by a shift in extracellular matrix (ECM) components. The relationship between matrix metalloproteinases and their specific inhibitors is crucial for the remodeling process.

Sudden Death by Ovarian Hemorrhage and Hemoperitoneum in a Pregnant Miniature Mare.

This report describes a case of sudden death of a pregnant miniature mare due to an acute ovarian hemorrhage leading to fatal hemoperitoneum. The miniature horse was a 12-year-old female, 60 days pregnant, with a body condition score of 7 (1-9), with a history of obesity and laminitis. Necropsy revealed hemoperitoneum due to an ovarian capsule rupture and hemorrhage after a physiological supplementary ovulation and luteinization.

Changes in expression pattern of selected endometrial proteins following mesenchymal stem cells infusion in mares with endometrosis.

Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) due to their self-renewal potential and differentiation capacity are useful for tissue regeneration. Immunomodulatory and trophic properties of MSCs were demonstrated suggesting their use as medicinal signaling cells able to positively change local environment in injured tissue. Equine endometrosis is a progressive degenerative disease responsible for glandular alterations and endometrial fibrosis which causes infertility in mares.
