Background: Non-infectious, allergic reactions affect many individuals and can range from mild to life-threatening. Kounis syndrome, an acute coronary syndrome triggered by allergic reactions, represents an association between allergies and myocardial ischemia. However, the significance of elevated cardiac biomarkers, particularly high-sensitivity cardiac troponin (hs-cTn), in patients presenting to the emergency department (ED) with allergic symptoms remains unclear.

This study aimed to compare the Glidesheath Slender versus conventional 5Fr arterial sheaths in patients undergoing diagnostic coronary angiography (CAG) through the dTRA.
Methods: A total of 352 consecutive patients with an indication for CAG were randomized (1:1) to Glidesheath Slender 5Fr versus a conventional 5Fr arterial sheath for dTRA.
Background: SCN5A mutations may present with different clinical phenotypes such as Brugada syndrome, long QT3 syndrome, sick sinus syndrome, atrial fibrillation, dilated cardiomyopathy, and the least known multifocal ectopic Purkinje-related premature contractions syndrome.
Case Summary: We report a case of a 29-year-old woman with palpitations due to multifocal premature ventricular complexes (PVCs) and a family history of sudden death. The previous electrophysiological study had shown that PVCs arose from Purkinje fibres but catheter ablation was unsuccessful.

To evaluate the impact of lockdown during the COVID-19 pandemic on lifestyle changes of the general population, and on admissions for acute coronary syndrome (ACS). All ACS admissions during the COVID-19 lockdown (10 March to 4 May, 2020), in 3 municipalities (3 spoke, and 1 hub hospital), in Southwestern Greece (411,576 inhabitants), were prospectively recorded and compared to the equivalent periods during 2018, and 2019. A telephone survey of 1014 participants was conducted to explore the lifestyle habits of citizens aged ≥35-years-old before and during lockdown.

Methods And Results: Consecutive patients undergoing non-urgent CAG via the right TRA were randomised to either the Tiger-II (Terumo) or Judkins (3.

Polymorphic ventricular tachycardia and ventricular fibrillation are the most common arrhythmias in Brugada syndrome causing syncope or sudden death. Sustained monomorphic ventricular tachycardias are rare in this context. We report of a patient with syncopal episodes due to episodes of sustained ventricular tachycardia, where a Type-I Brugada pattern was revealed after pharmacological provocation with procainamide.
