Introduction: Standard levothyroxine (LT4) therapy may not fully address all risks associated with hypothyroidism-especially cognitive decline, dementia, and mortality-even when TSH levels are normalized. Observational studies link hypothyroidism to higher dementia rates; the role of LT4 plus liothyronine (T3) therapies remains uncertain.
Methods: This retrospective cohort study analyzed TriNetX data, comparing 1.
Background: Electronic Health Records (EHR) analysis is pivotal in advancing medical research. Numerous real-world EHR data providers offer data access through exported datasets. While enabling profound research possibilities, exported EHR data requires quality control and restructuring for meaningful analysis.

Although the risk of developing HO is associated with burns >30% total body surface area (TBSA), burns on the arms with or without skin grafting, and ventilation days, large clinical studies identifying the risk for HO in burns are not available. Using a large real-world patient database, we aimed to identify factors influencing the development of HO in burn survivors.

: Postmenopausal women are often treated with exogenous female hormones to alleviate physical symptoms and support mental health. We posit that women treated with estrogen fare better following burn injury. : De-identified patient data were obtained from TriNetX, a global healthcare research network.

Factors modulating microbiome abundance and composition include host genetic background, environmental parameters, and pathogen exposure. Conversely, the microbiome profoundly influences pathogen infection of the mosquito host and thus harbours considerable potential to impact the transmission of vector-borne diseases.

Recent compelling evidence from previous retrospective electronic health record (EHRs) studies suggests that herpes simplex virus (HSV) infections may be a risk factor for developing dementia. However, no age and propensity score matched studies have been published in a United States general population cohort study to date.

Due to improvements in detection and treatment, cancer mortality has declined significantly, leaving a growing population of cancer survivors. Therefore, we wondered whether pre-existing cancer diagnoses influence patient outcomes following burn injury.

Therefore, a better understanding of host responses to β-CoVs would provide insights into the pathogenesis of these viruses to identify potential targets for medical countermeasures. In this study, our objective is to use a systems biology approach to explore the magnitude and scope of innate immune responses triggered by SARS-CoV-1 and -2 infection over time in pathologically relevant human lung epithelial cells (Calu-3/2B4 cells).

The 17D live-attenuated vaccine has significantly reduced YF incidence with minimal risk of vaccine-associated adverse events, including Yellow Fever Vaccine-fever-associated Neurotropic Disease (YEL-AND) and Yellow Fever Vaccine-Associated Viscerotropic Disease (YEL-AVD). This study investigates the potential of Real-World Evidence (RWE) to enhance vaccine surveillance by analyzing electronic health records (EHRs) from the TriNetX platform, which identified a total of 15,835 individuals who were vaccinated with the Stamaril® YF vaccine between 2017 and 2021 in the United States.

The study investigated the impact of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) on burn-induced coagulopathy in severely burned patients. Patients with a greater than 20% TBSA were identified in the TriNetX research network and categorized into receiving or not receiving NSAIDs in the first week after the burn. The statistical significance of the rate of burn-induced coagulopathy, mortality and sepsis in the week following injury was analysed.

This study explored how CTCs act as a barrier at CDi. The roles of human leukocyte antigen (HLA)-G and progesterone receptor membrane component 2 (PGRMC2) in mediating immune homeostasis were also investigated.

Background: Obesity, a known independent risk factor for developing malignancy. Additionally, renal transplant recipients (RTR) confer a 2- to 4-fold increased risk of overall malignancies with an excess absolute risk of .7% per year.

As interferon-alpha (IFN-α) and -beta (β) have been proposed as COVID-19 treatments, we sought to assess their effectiveness on respiratory, cardiovascular, neurological, and psychiatric signs and symptoms, as well as PASC and death, in hospitalized COVID-19 patients without multiple sclerosis (MS). Using a federated data research network (TriNetX), we performed a retrospective cohort study of hospitalized COVID-19 patients without MS who received IFN-α or -β treatment, comparing them to a similar cohort who did not receive treatment.

Genital burns are unique and complex injuries that impact patients physically and emotionally. This study investigates the specific impact of genital burns on psychosocial and physical outcomes. A retrospective cohort study was conducted using the TriNetX database, encompassing over 117 million patients from U.

Current tPA guidelines exclude patients who took direct oral anticoagulants (DOAC) within the prior 48 hours. In this propensity-matched retrospective study we compared acute ischemic stroke patients treated with tPA who had received DOACs within 48 hours of thrombolysis to those not previously treated with DOACs, regarding three outcomes: mortality; intracranial hemorrhage (ICH); and need for acute blood transfusions (as a marker of significant blood loss).
