The mammalian SKI complex is a broad-spectrum antiviral drug target that upregulates cellular cholesterol to inhibit viral replication.

Unlabelled: There is a need for the development of broad-spectrum antiviral compounds that can act as first-line therapeutic countermeasures to emerging viral infections. Host-directed approaches present a promising avenue of development and carry the benefit of mitigating risks of viral escape mutants. We have previously found the SKI (super killer) complex to be a broad-spectrum, host-target with our lead compound ("UMB18") showing activity against influenza A virus, coronaviruses, and filoviruses.

Rationally Designed InhA Inhibitors: A Comparative Anti-Tubercular Activity Study of Sulfonate Esters of Isoniazid Hydrazones and Their Structurally Flexible Benzyl Analogues.

Molecular hybridization of isoniazid with hydrophobic aromatic moieties represents a promising strategy for the development of novel anti-tubercular therapeutics. In this study, a series of hybrid molecules (5a-i) was synthesized by linking isoniazid with aromatic sulfonate esters via a hydrazone bridge. Molecular docking studies revealed that these compounds interact effectively with the catalytic triad of the InhA enzyme (Y158, F149, and K165), suggesting their potential as InhA inhibitors.

'Simply do it.': Results from an online questionnaire to inform a community-based menopause education and support programme in the UK, InTune.

ObjectiveWe are developing a menopause education and support programme, 'InTune', using co-design that includes focus groups and workshops. We have identified the need for two key interventions: one aimed at raising general awareness, , and another to support those currently experiencing menopause symptoms. This survey aims to reach a broader audience to better understand their needs and preferences around menopause education and support.

Early (≤ 2 h) Bolus Surfactant Replacement Therapy Versus Standard Care in Term (≥ 37 Weeks) Neonates With Meconium Aspiration Syndrome: An Open-Label Randomized Controlled Trial.

Background: Meconium aspiration syndrome (MAS), a common cause of respiratory failure in late preterm and term neonates, is associated with a high risk of mortality and morbidity. Amongst all the treatment modalities for severe MAS, surfactant administration has a proven role in decreasing progressive respiratory failure.

Methods: The present open-label randomised controlled trial aimed to determine the effect of early (≤ 2 h) bolus surfactant therapy as compared to standard care on the total duration of respiratory support.
