Background: Primary Stabbing Headache (PSH) is characterized by brief, focal, and paroxysmal pain ("stab"), occurring sporadically or in clusters. Data on pediatric cases are poor.

Methods: We performed a comprehensive literature review by searching PubMed, Cochrane, and Embase in order to collect pediatric case reports and case series of PSH.

Hemiplegic Migraine in Children and Adolescents.

Background: Only a few studies have focused on hemiplegic migraine (HM) in children despite its early age of onset. The aim of this review is to describe the peculiar characteristics of pediatric HM.

Methods: This is a narrative review based on 14 studies on pediatric HM selected from 262 papers.

Extended Glasgow Outcome Scale to Evaluate the Functional Impairment of Patients With Subcortical Band Heterotopia: A Multicentric Cross-sectional Study.

Background: Subcortical band heterotopia (SBH) is a rare malformation of the cortical development characterized by a heterotopic band of gray matter between cortex and ventricles. The clinical presentation typically includes intellectual disability and epilepsy.

Purpose: To evaluate if the Extended Glasgow Outcome Scale-pediatric version (EGOS-ped) is a feasible tool for evaluating the functional disability of patients with (SBH).

New Insights on Juvenile Psoriatic Arthritis.

Juvenile psoriatic arthritis (JPsA) is a relatively rare condition in childhood as it represents approximately 5% of the whole Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (JIA) population. According to International League of Associations of Rheumatology (ILAR) classification, JPsA is defined by the association of arthritis and psoriasis or, in the absence of typical psoriatic lesions, with at least two of the following: dactylitis, nail pitting, onycholysis or family history of psoriasis in a first-degree relative. However, recent studies have shown that this classification system could conceal more homogeneous subgroups of patients differing by age of onset, clinical characteristics and prognosis.

First Attack and Clinical Presentation of Hemiplegic Migraine in Pediatric Age: A Multicenter Retrospective Study and Literature Review.

Data on clinical presentation of Hemiplegic Migraine (HM) are quite limited in the literature, particularly in the pediatric age. The aim of the present study is to describe in detail the phenotypic features at onset and during the first years of disease of sporadic (SHM) and familial (FHM) pediatric hemiplegic migraine and to review the pertinent literature. Retrospective study of a cohort of children and adolescents diagnosed with hemiplegic migraine, recruited from 11 Italian specialized Juvenile Headache Centers.
