Background: Acute calculous cholecystitis (ACC) is a significant cause of acute abdominal pain, accounting for 90-95% of gallbladder inflammations caused by gallstones. Its clinical presentation ranges from nonspecific abdominal pain to septic conditions associated with an acute abdomen. Timely and accurate diagnosis is critical in patient management, as delayed diagnosis or inadequate treatment can result in increased morbidity and life-threatening complications such as perforation or biliary peritonitis.

Introduction: Agatston coronary artery calcium (CAC) scoring is the primary scoring method used to determine the summed value of calcium burden. The Agatston CAC score method is a non-invasive, rapid, easily accessible tool that helps identify the weighted sum of the calcium burden in arteries using multi-detector computed tomography. The Agatston CAC score is a significant prognostic indicator for vascular diseases in the long term.

Although sodium disorder is common in hospitalized patients, few studies have specifically examined the incidence of dysnatremia in patients presenting to the emergency department for post-earthquake trauma. The aim of this study is to evaluate the incidence of dysnatremia and the prognosis of patients with dysnatremia in trauma patients admitted to our center after the Kahramanmaraş earthquake.

Objective: Acute appendicitis is the most common cause of acute abdomen. It is important to differentiate between complicated and uncomplicated appendicitis before surgery in the emergency department. Recently, immature granulocytes have become one of the biomarkers used as predictors of inflammation.

The present study aimed to investigate the effect of blood pressure (BP) on the circadian pattern and prevalence of new-onset non-dipper hypertension in the post-COVID period in patients with known hypertension. This prospective single-center study included 722 patients hospitalized for COVID-19 infection.

Although the relationships among periodontal disease, CVD, and specialized pro-resolving lipid mediator (sPRLM)s are well known, there is no study about the combined effects of cardiovascular and periodontal treatments on sPRLM levels. It was aimed to evaluate the effects of periodontal and cardiovascular therapies on sPRLMs (lipoxin A4, protectin (PD)1, resolvin (Rv) E1, RvD1, and maresin (MaR)1) in patients with CVD and periodontal disease.

It shows the conduction time from the endocardium in the ventricle to the epicardium. It provides diagnostic and prognostic information for many cardiovascular diseases, such as RWPT prolongation, left ventricular hypertrophy, volume overload, conduction system abnormalities, and myocardial ischemia.

Methods: A total of 264 ST-elevation myocardial infarction patients were classified into two groups according to baseline and 6-month follow-up left ventricular systolic function: reduced and recovery systolic function. Predictors of the recovery of left ventricular ejection fraction were determined by multivariate regression analyses.
Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate the effects of 5% lidocaine and 2.5% lidocaine/2.5% prilocaine topical anesthetic on pain during needle insertion and infiltration injection in the labial mucosa of anterior maxillary teeth, and to assess the relationship between patients' anxiety and pain scores.

Objective: T-wave positivity in the lead aVR is a marker of ventricular repolarization abnormality and provides information on short- and long-term cardiovascular mortality in heart failure patients, those with anterior myocardial infarction, and patients who underwent hemodialysis for various reasons. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between T-wave positivity in the lead aVR on superficial electrocardiogram and mortality from COVID-19 pneumonia.
Methods: This study retrospectively included 130 patients who were diagnosed with COVID-19 and treated as an outpatient or in the thoracic diseases ward in a single center between January 2021 and June 2021.

Introduction: The benefit of implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) in patients with non-ischemic dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) is still an issue under discussion. Studies examining the relationship between ventricular scar tissue and ICD shock with cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) are promising. CMR studies have shown that ventricular scar tissue size and Selvester score show a correlation.

Methodology: In this randomized double-blind, controlled clinical trial, 120 patients with the diagnosis of SIP in their mandibular first or second molars were included and randomly divided into four groups (n = 30). The control group received normal saline and three experimental groups received a single dose of dexamethasone (8 mg/2 mL), or tramadol (100 mg/2 mL) or articaine (4% / 2 mL).
Background: Contrast-induced nephropathy (CIN) is a life-threatening complication after primary percutaneous coronary intervention (p-PCI). Oxidative stress and inflammation may play an important role in the development of CIN.
Objective: We aimed to assess the relationship between total oxidant status, total antioxidant capacity, high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP), gamma-glutamyltransferase and uric acid (UA) in the development of CIN in patients presenting with ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI).
The aim of this study was to investigate the predictive capacity of a systemic immune-inflammation index (SII) in the detection of contrast-induced nephropathy (CIN) following ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). A total of 477 STEMI patients were enrolled in the study. The patients were divided into 2 groups according to CIN development.

The frontal QRS-T [f(QRS-T)] angle is the electrocardiographic marker and index of ventricular arrhythmogenic events. We aimed to investigate the relationship between MBPS and the f(QRS-T) angle, which is an indicator of ventricular repolarization disorder, in patients with newly diagnosed HT.

Evidence of host modulation via pro-resolving lipid shown in previous studies supports a two-way relationship between periodontitis and CVD. Last generation endogenous specific pro-resolution lipid mediators (SPMs) such as protectins (PDs) and maresins (MaRs) may have potential effects on inflammatory pathogenesis via activation and resolution mechanisms.
