Evaluation of Serum Neudesin Levels in Patients With Adrenal Incidentaloma.

Background: Neudesin is a neurotrophic factor involved in various metabolic and inflammatory pathways. However, its role in adrenal incidentalomas remains unclear. This study aimed to evaluate serum neudesin levels in patients with adrenal incidentalomas and investigate their potential clinical significance.

An objective test to assess upper limb functionality in patients with breast cancer-related lymphedema: investigation of the psychometric properties of the upper limb functional test (ULIFT).

Background: Although upper limb (UL) functionality was reported to be adversely affected in patients with breast cancer- related lymphedema (BCRL), there is currently no validated, objective performance-based assessment tool designed to evaluate UL function in this population. The Upper Limb Functional Test (ULIFT) was adapted from the ADL test (TGlittre), which is widely used in clinical settings and research, and was developed to assess unilateral UL functionality. Therefore, the present study aimed to evaluate the psychometric properties of the ULIFT in patients with BCRL.

Prognostic factors and outcomes of adjuvant and first-line metastatic treatments in melanoma a Turkish oncology group study.

Management of melanoma has changed significantly with the discovery of targeted therapies and immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICI). Our aim in the study is to determine which treatment alternatives, specifically dabrafenib plus trametinib and ICIs, are effective in adjuvant therapy and which treatment is effective as first-line metastatic therapy. This retrospective, multicenter study included 120 patients diagnosed with stage IIIB-IIID melanoma receiving both adjuvant and first-line metastatic treatment between 2007 and 2023.

Prognostic value of B7-H3 expression in metastatic renal cell carcinoma and its impact on immunotherapy response.

Background: Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) is characterised by its immunogenic and proangiogenic nature and its resistance to conventional therapies. The advent of immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) and tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) has significantly improved patient survival, but resistance to these treatments remains a challenge. B7-H3, a potential immune checkpoint, has been implicated in modulating the tumour microenvironment and immune escape mechanisms in RCC.

The Effectiveness of Adjuvant PD-1 Inhibitors in Patients With Surgically Resected Stage III/IV Acral Melanoma.

Our aim was to assess the efficacy of adjuvant programmed cell death protein-1 (PD-1) inhibitors and compare the other adjuvant treatments in patients with surgically resected stage III or IV acral melanoma. This study is a multicenter, retrospective analysis. We included 114 patients with stage III or IV acral malignant melanoma who underwent surgery within the past 10 years.

The comparison of functional status and health-related parameters in ovarian cancer survivors with healthy controls.

Purpose: The primary purpose of this study was to evaluate functional status and health-related parameters in ovarian cancer (OC) survivors and to compare these parameters with healthy controls. The secondary purpose of this study was to compare these parameters in early and advanced OC survivors.

Methods: Thirty-two OC survivors (n = 15 early stage; n = 17 advanced stage) with no evidence/suspicion of cancer recurrence after completing adjuvant local and systemic treatments for at least 12 months and 32 healthy controls were recruited for functional- and health-related assessments.

Tubulointerstitial nephritis (TIN) presents histopathologically as tubulitis and oedema/inflammation and fibrosis, affecting the renal tubules and interstitium with relative sparing of the glomeruli and vasculature. It can be acute or chronic or acute on chronic and has a wide range of etiologies. In this article, we report a case of a 44-year male who presented with acute TIN, associated with the use of diclofenac at therapeutic doses, that resolved with treatment but later progressed to chronic TIN after the patient resumed diclofenac therapy.
