Background And Aim: Inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) are chronic conditions that affect the gastrointestinal tract. The chronic inflammatory state promotes a catabolic environment that contributes to undernutrition, while mucosal damage often impairs nutrient absorption. The aim of this study is to evaluate the relationship between nutritional status-including micronutrient deficiencies-and clinical as well as laboratoristics disease activity in a cohort of patients with IBD.

Aim: We aimed to confirm the higher prevalence of sexual dysfunction in these women and identify the most impaired domain of sexual function and the risk factors associated with it.
Methods: We conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis to investigate the risk of sexual dysfunction in women with pSS according to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines.
Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) includes Crohn's disease (CD) and ulcerative colitis (UC). The availability of an increasing number of new molecules approved for IBD treatment has increased our ability and aspirations to change the trajectory of the disease. The Selecting Therapeutic Targets in Inflammatory Bowel Disease (STRIDE) II consensus (2018) is the current suggested strategy for IBD management, which recommends a treat-to-target approach.

Purpose: Both surgical and non-surgical treatments for acute Achilles tendon ruptures (aATRs) exist, but the optimal management strategy, especially regarding weight-bearing timing, remains unclear. This study investigates combinations of primary treatment (open surgical repair, percutaneous/minimally invasive repair and non-surgical treatment) and rehabilitation strategies (Early Weight Bearing [EWB] vs. Late Weight Bearing [LWB]) for aATRs, analysing re-rupture risk, complication rates and recovery outcomes.

Background: Moral Distress (MD) is a unique form of distress that occurs when people believe they know the ethically correct action to take but are constrained from doing so. Limited clinical experience and insufficient ethical knowledge contribute to nursing students' MD, which can potentially cause negative outcomes. The aims of this study are: (1) to describe the MD intensity of nursing students, and (2) to analyze differences and associations between MD intensity and socio-demographic and academic variables.

Aim: The purpose of the study was to better investigate the degree of knowledge and the diagnostic approach concerning celiac disease and its extra-intestinal manifestations by general practitioners in Italy.
Background: Celiac Disease is a common chronic disease, but often goes undiagnosed because of atypical symptoms or silent disease. Currently there are non-definitive data about the disease management approach concerning celiac disease by general practitioners.
Purpose: False penile fractures (FPF) represent a rare sexual emergency characterized by blunt trauma of penis in the absence of albuginea's injury, with or without lesion of dorsal penile vein. Their presentation is often indistinguishable from true penile fractures (TPF). This overlapping of clinical presentation, and lack of knowledge about FPF, can lead surgeons often to proceed directly to surgical exploration without further examinations.

Eight prospective studies were included in the systematic review and meta-analysis, with a population aged 18-65 years, analyzing treatment regimen and psychophysical and social status in post-cancer follow-up of at least 2 years. In the meta-analysis, a comparison was made between recovered unemployed cases and cases from a standard reference population.

In recent years, there has been an increasing interest on muscle wasting, considering the reduction of quality of life and the increase of morbidity and mortality associated. Sarcopenia and cachexia represent two conditions of reduction of muscle mass, sharing several elements involved in their pathogenesis, such as systemic inflammation, impaired muscle protein synthesis, increased muscle apoptosis, mitochondrial dysfunction in skeletal muscle tissue and insulin resistance. These features often characterize cancer, inactivity or denervation, but also inflammatory diseases, such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, renal failure, cardiac failure, rheumatoid arthritis, inflammatory bowel disease and aging in general.
