Leuk Lymphoma
September 2025
We performed a phase I/II trial to explore the safety and efficacy of carfilzomib (K) in combination with R-CHOP (KR-CHOP) in patients with diffuse large B cell lymphoma (DLBCL). A total of 48 patients were enrolled and 47 were treated. The overall response rate (ORR) was 89% (70% complete response).

In 2022, the Cardiogenic Shock Working Group (CSWG) modified the original classification using specific parameters to better define hypotension and hypoperfusion with the goal to further refine stratification.
Methods: Consecutive patients with CS who were managed at a quaternary academic medical centre from May 2015 to December 2021 were evaluated (N = 1162).
Introduction: Bisphosphonates, including zoledronic acid, are widely used for the treatment of osteoporosis, Paget's disease, and malignant bone metastases by inhibiting osteoclast-mediated bone resorption. While bisphosphonates are commonly associated with mild side effects such as fever, more severe complications like osteonecrosis of the jaw and hypocalcemia are less common but possible. A rare but clinically significant potential adverse effect that has previously been reported is orbital inflammation (OI), with patients presenting with symptoms of eye pain, orbital swelling, and conjunctival injection.

We sought to identify clinical factors associated with successful outcomes for patients developing CS at an outside healthcare facility (spoke) and being transferred to a quaternary medical center (hub).
Methods And Results: Consecutive patients with CS were evaluated (N=1162).
Purpose Of Review: The purpose of this review is to describe the evidence behind various blood and imaging-based biomarkers that can improve the identification of congestion when not clearly evident on routine examination.
Recent Findings: The natriuretic peptides (NPs) BNP and NT-proBNP have been shown to closely correlate with intra-cardiac filling pressures, both at baseline and when trended following improvement in congestion. Additionally, NPs rise well before clinical congestion is apparent so can be used as a tool to help identify subclinical HF decompensation.
Background: Type 2 diabetes is prevalent in cardiovascular disease and contributes to excess morbidity and mortality. We sought to investigate the effect of glycemia on functional cardiac improvement, morbidity, and mortality in durable left ventricular assist device (LVAD) recipients.
Methods And Results: Consecutive patients with an LVAD were prospectively evaluated (n=531).
Importance: The existing models predicting right ventricular failure (RVF) after durable left ventricular assist device (LVAD) support might be limited, partly due to lack of external validation, marginal predictive power, and absence of intraoperative characteristics.
Objective: To derive and validate a risk model to predict RVF after LVAD implantation.
Design, Setting, And Participants: This was a hybrid prospective-retrospective multicenter cohort study conducted from April 2008 to July 2019 of patients with advanced heart failure (HF) requiring continuous-flow LVAD.
