Multidisciplinary approach to diagnosis and management of lymphadenopathy in a patient with mucous membrane pemphigoid: a case report.

Autoimmune blistering diseases (AIBDs) can present concurrently with solid or hematologic malignancies. This concomitant finding is believed to be associated with paraneoplastic syndrome, and management typically requires a multidisciplinary approach. This case report describes diagnosis and treatment of a patient previously diagnosed with mucous membrane pemphigoid of the skin who was referred to an oral medicine clinic for evaluation of oral mucosal blisters and gingival bleeding of 8 months' duration.

This case scenario shows the value of conducting a thorough clinical examination that will direct appropriate radiographic selection and prescription criteria to be able to arrive at a diagnosis. Proper management of a patient's chief complaint and imaging needs during pregnancy is of utmost importance. It is prudent to limit ionizing radiation during the first trimester to what is minimally needed and defer elective imaging until after the birth of the baby.

Radiographic Screening of Patients in a Dental School using the Prosthodontic Diagnostic Index.

Introduction: Organization of the findings associated with various diagnostic aids plays a key role in formulating the treatment plan of the patients undergoing dental and medical treatment. Enhanced consistency in diagnosing and classifying prosthodontic patients is the basic purpose of various classification systems. Hence, we planned this study to classify partially edentulous patients and completely dentate patients at the undergraduate clinics using the prosthodontic diagnostic index (PDI).
