Chronic thromboembolic pulmonary disease (CTEPD) is defined by chronic organized thrombi in the pulmonary circulation without or with pulmonary hypertension. The current definition of chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH) has adopted lower mean pulmonary arterial pressure (mPAP) and pulmonary vascular resistance (PVR) thresholds.
