The biology of Monosomal Karyotype Acute Myeloid Leukemia (MK AML) remains unclear, and its mutational profile has not been exclusively assessed. We sought to determine the genomic profile of MK AML patients and its correlation with overall survival (OS). We conducted a retrospective study involving 664 AML patients, identifying 156 (23.

Background: Managing large intracranial meningiomas (LIMs) is challenging. Because of the significant morbidity associated with resection, stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) has increasingly been employed for LIMs. This systematic review and meta-analysis assessed the role of SRS in LIMs.

Objective: The potential impact of opium addiction on medical procedures has not been thoroughly investigated. In the present study, we aimed at investigating the potential association between opium addiction and the outcomes of endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP).

Methods: In this retrospective case-control study, patients who underwent ERCP between July 2021 and October 2023 at a tertiary care center were screened and patients with opium addiction were matched with non-addict patients based on age, sex, ERCP indication and the cannulation approach at 1:1 ratio.

Background: Regarding the differences in surgical approaches for spinal schwannomas and meningiomas, preoperative differentiation of spinal schwannomas and meningiomas can be important in managing these lesions. This study evaluated the diagnostic performance of machine learning (ML)-based models in the differentiation of spinal schwannomas and meningiomas.

Methods: On December 18, 2024, a comprehensive search was conducted.

Background: Managing petroclival meningiomas (PCMs) is challenging due to their deep-seated location and proximity to critical anatomical structures. Resection aimed at achieving gross total resection (GTR) has been the primary therapeutic approach for PCMs; however, GTR is associated with considerable complications. Stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) has emerged as an effective and safe minimally invasive option for managing petroclival meningiomas.

Hyperdiploid karyotype (HK) (49-65 chromosomes) in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is rare. Recently, HK-AML with only numerical changes has been reclassified into an intermediate risk group in the updated 2022 European LeukemiaNet (ELN) risk classification, which has historically been classified into an adverse risk group. However, there are limited data in the literature concerning whether these new exclusion criteria are appropriate, and the genetic landscape of HK-AML remains unclear.

Background: Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutations are present in 10-60% of all non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients and are associated with dismal prognosis. Lung cancer brain metastases (LCBM) are a common complication of lung cancer. Predictions of EGFR can help physicians in decision-making and, through optimizing treatment strategies, can result in more favorable outcomes.

Objective: This study investigates the association between estimated glucose disposal rate (eGDR), a measurement of insulin resistance, and microvascular and macrovascular complications in patients with type 2 diabetes (T2D).

Methods: This cross-sectional study enrolled 7471 patients with T2D from 2010 to 2023. The eGDR was calculated using waist circumference, HbA1C levels, and hypertension status.

Background: Sex reassignment surgery (SRS) is a necessary step in transitioning into the desired gender for male-to-female transgender individuals. This study focuses on a rare complication developed following SRS, aiming to highlight potential complications associated with this procedure.

Case Presentation: This report describes a 49-year-old transgender woman with a history of SRS who developed bloody diarrhea and neovaginal bleeding 10 years later.
