Autoimmune pancreatitis (AIP) is a rare autoimmune disorder that resembles pancreatic neoplasia and occurs primarily in adults. Management strategies and diagnostic criteria are being revised for adult patients; there are no clear diagnostic criteria for pediatric patients. We describe 3 cases of AIP in children, on the basis of clinical and pathology records.

Survival expectancy is generally estimated in months with few reports in the literature of patients surviving more than 2 years. We report a case of one of the longest known surviving patients in continuous complete remission with metastatic small cell carcinoma of the prostate and review the available literature reporting longer-term survival in this condition.
