Impact of climate change and extreme temperature on the incidence of infectious disease among children and adolescents in China: A nationwide case-crossover study with over 8.7 million cases between 2008 and 2019.

Background: The relationship between ambient temperature and infectious disease incidence lacks comprehensive documentation. Our study, therefore, sought to systematically determine the national association between temperature and the incidence of infectious diseases, categorized into respiratory, gastrointestinal and enterovirus, and vector-borne categories. We aimed to study the association between extreme cold and heat extreme temperature on infectious disease occurrence among children and teenagers, and to evaluate the secular trends in these diseases in relation to temperature extremes.

Ocular biometric parameters in Chinese preschool children and physiological axial length growth prediction using machine learning algorithms: a retrospective cross-sectional study.

Objectives: To examine the ocular biometric parameters and predict the annual growth rate of the physiological axial length (AL) in Chinese preschool children aged 4-6 years old.

Methods: This retrospective cross-sectional study included 1090 kindergarten students (1090 right eyes) between the ages of 4 and 6 years from Pinggu and Chaoyang District, Beijing. Dioptre values were ascertained following cycloplegic autorefraction.

Axial length to corneal radius of curvature ratio and refractive error in Chinese preschoolers aged 4-6 years: a retrospective cross-sectional study.

Objective: This study aims to investigate the associations of axial length to corneal radius of curvature (AL/CRC) ratio with refractive error and to determine the effect of AL/CRC ratio on hyperopia reserve and myopia assessment among Chinese preschoolers.

Methods: This was a retrospective cross-sectional study that evaluated subjects aged 4-6 years. AL and CRC were obtained using a non-contact ocular biometer.
