We report a method for the dynamic resolution of racemic amines enabled by catalytic photoredox-mediated racemization coupled to diastereomeric crystallization. In this design, an excited-state iridium chromophore and an achiral thiol cocatalyst mediate the racemization of α-chiral amines under mild, redox-neutral conditions. In the presence of commercially available chiral resolving acids, the desired amine enantiomer is continually precipitated from solution as an insoluble diastereomeric salt.

However, the inertness of polyethylene makes chemical recycling inefficient and challenging. We report the conversion of oxidized high-density and low-density polyethylene, formed by direct, catalytic oxidation, to polyamides by Beckmann rearrangement of the corresponding oximes.

Methods: The study was conducted over a 1-week period, during which participants were randomized to either converse with a baseline chatbot without relational capacity (control group) or a relational chatbot using social relational communication strategies. Objectively measured physical activity data were collected using smartphone pedometers.
Background: Heart disease is the leading cause of death (LCOD) for women in the United States. However, despite decades of public health campaigns, awareness of heart disease among women, especially those with racial/ethnic minority backgrounds and young women, significantly declined from 2009 to 2019.
Objectives: The aim of this study was to compare the differences in heart disease awareness as the LCOD among Black, Hispanic, White, and Asian/Other women groups.
Polyethylene is a commodity material that is widely used because of its low cost and valuable properties. However, the lack of functional groups in polyethylene limits its use in applications that include adhesives, gas barriers, and plastic blends. The inertness of polyethylene makes it difficult to install groups that would enhance its properties and enable programmed chemical decomposition.

The majority of studies reported were about medication use as an indicator of adverse respiratory effects from air pollution in developed countries. Studies to a lesser extent pointed to medication use as indicator of health outcomes associated with other environmental health stressors such as water, noise pollution, and habitat conditions.
