Epizootic hemorrhagic disease virus (EHDV) causes severe disease in ruminants. We assessed the pathogenicity of the Chinese EHDV-7 isolate YN09 in mice lacking the type I interferon receptor and in sheep. In mice, YN09 infection resulted in 100% mortality, with histopathological lesions, viral replication, and immunoreactivity in multiple organs.

Motivation: Drug repositioning presents a streamlined and cost-efficient way to expand the range of therapeutic possibilities. Drugs with human genetic evidence are more likely to advance successfully through clinical trials towards FDA approval. Single gene-based drug repositioning methods have been implemented, but approaches leveraging a broad spectrum of molecular signatures remain underexplored.

Proton exchange membrane water electrolysis (PEMWE) is regarded as the most promising technique for the sustainable production of green hydrogen due to its multiple advantages such as high working current density and high hydrogen purity. However, the anodic oxygen evolution reaction (OER) has a significant impact on the overall efficiency of the electrolytic water reaction due to its sluggish kinetics, which has prompted the search for catalysts possessing both high activity and durability. Iridium oxide exhibits excellent stability under acidic conditions but has poor catalytic activity, leading to its inability to meet the strict requirements of large-scale industrial applications.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFFragile X syndrome (FXS), a leading inherited cause of intellectual disability and autism, is frequently accompanied by sleep and circadian rhythm disturbances. In this study, we comprehensively characterized these disruptions and evaluated the therapeutic potential of a circadian-based intervention in the fragile X mental retardation 1 () knockout (KO) mouse. The KO mice exhibited fragmented sleep, impaired locomotor rhythmicity, and attenuated behavioral responses to light, linked to an abnormal retinal innervation and reduction of light-evoked neuronal activation in the suprachiasmatic nucleus.
