Modification of the Sniffin Kids Test for olfactory testing in a population of Polish children.

Background: Smell tests in children need to be standardized and validated, include odors familiar to children, and be defined by age-dependent standards. This study aimed to adapt the Sniffin Kids Test (SKT) for Polish children and conduct validation and evaluation of the Sniffin Kids Poland Test (SKPOL).

Methodology: The study included 382 children (4-14 years old) recruited in Poland, who were allocated into healthy (n=343) and sick (with subjective olfactory disorders, n=39), divided into 3 age subgroups, but also 13 anosmic children with Kallmann syndrome (KS) and olfactory bulb aplasia.

Anxiety in polycystic ovary syndrome - a meta-analysis.

Introduction And Objective: Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is one of the most common chronic endocrine disorders. One of the serious comorbidity of PCOS are mental disorders including anxiety disorders. The objective of this meta analysis review was to determine the prevalence, the mean level, standardized mean difference and probability of anxiety based on research conducted using the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS-A).

Epidemiology of Psoriasis in Poland: Prevalence, Incidence, and Mortality Rates.

Background: Although the data on psoriasis epidemiology included in the Global Psoriasis Atlas (GPA) provide valuable information on psoriasis prevalence worldwide, the GPA database is still incomplete. Therefore, the aim of the study was to assess the prevalence, incidence, and mortality rates of psoriasis and its types in Poland based on the data registered by the National Health Fund (NHF).

Methods: The study included psoriasis patients registered at least twice in the Polish NHF database between 2010 and 2023.

Type D Personality, Stress Levels, and Coping Strategies in Women with Androgenetic Alopecia and Polycystic Ovary Syndrome.

BACKGROUND The study was aimed to determine level of stress and using of coping strategies and frequency of type D personality in women with androgenetic alopecia with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), to correlate personality type with level of stress and coping strategies, and to correlate severity of alopecia with personality type, level of stress, and coping strategies. MATERIAL AND METHODS The study was conducted in 2023 and included 146 Polish women aged 18 to 45 years with androgenetic alopecia and PCOS. A questionnaire containing social-demographic data, gynecological and obstetric history, health history, history of diagnosis, and treatment of PCOS in the past and present.
