The global distribution of Plasmodium vivax Circumsporozoite Protein variants (PvCSP), VK210, VK247, and P. vivax-like, plays a crucial role in malaria transmission and vaccine development. This systematic review and meta-analysis assessed the prevalence of these variants in humans and their association with Anopheles species worldwide.

A lack of clinical suspicion of co-infections, absence of knowledge on the geographic distribution of diseases, and lack of availability of point-of-care diagnostic testing for other tropical diseases can often lead to missed diagnosis or misdiagnosis of common tropical infections, including rickettsioses. We herein describe a case of confirmed intercurrent rickettsial and infection, with the former potentially triggering a relapse of the latter in a febrile traveler returning to Canada from South America, and review the literature on tropical coinfections in returning travelers.

This study compares persistence-time from initiation to discontinuation-between BIC/emtricitabine (FTC)/tenofovir alafenamide (TAF) and DTG-containing STRs at a Toronto HIV clinicMethodsA retrospective cohort analysis was conducted on 1732 adults with HIV at Maple Leaf Medical Clinic who initiated or switched to BIC/FTC/TAF or DTG-containing STRs from 2016 to 2022. Persistence was measured in days until discontinuation.

Dengue outbreak data often suffers from irregularities, underreporting, delays, and missing information, which challenge the development of reliable prediction models.
Methods: To overcome these issues, the study proposes an innovative framework that combines Evolutionary Sampling with Prediction (ESP) to handle temporal and stochastic dynamics, along with a Minimax K-nearest neighbour imputer to correct missing data biases.
Capturing carbon dioxide (CO) remains a critical challenge in mitigating climate change due to its stability and low reactivity. Carbonic anhydrase (CA), a highly efficient enzyme capable of converting CO to bicarbonate at a turnover rate of up to 1 × 10 s, presents a promising solution for carbon capture and storage (CCS). However, its industrial application is limited by poor thermal and chemical stability, especially under harsh conditions such as those found in flue gas streams.
