Factors influencing primary health care service provision to older adults in lagos, nigeria: understanding the experiences of the demand population.

Background: As the population in Nigeria ages, primary health care (PHC) is a critical, inclusive, and cost-effective approach to improving the health status and care for older adults who require regular care for noncommunicable diseases and age-related conditions. To address age-related healthcare disparities and promote healthy aging there is a need to identify barriers and facilitators to PHC access for older adults in Nigeria.

Methods: We conducted a qualitative study using focus group discussions (FGDs) with older adults in Lagos State.

Systematic review of surface disinfection: Spraying versus wiping for COVID-19 prevention.

Background: Within countries, community spread of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) propagated the infection despite the use of non-pharmaceutical interventions.

Aim: To evaluate the effectiveness of disinfecting surfaces and materials in the community by spraying compared with wiping (mechanical cleaning) or nothing for SARS-CoV-2 infection prevention.

Setting: This research was conducted in a global context.

Early infant diagnosis of HIV infection: a mixed-method study of uptake and challenges at primary health centers in Lagos State, Nigeria.

Introduction: Nigeria has a low uptake of early infant diagnosis (EID) of HIV despite its high pediatric HIV infection rate. Efforts to increase the EID of HIV have been limited by many factors. This research assessed EID uptake and challenges service providers experienced in providing routine care for HIV-exposed infants.

Places Nigerians visited during COVID-19 government stay-home policy: evidence from secondary analysis of data collected during the lockdown.

Introduction: Compliance with the Government's lockdown policy is required to curtail community transmission of Covid-19 infection. The objective of this research was to identify places Nigerians visited during the lockdown to help prepare for a response towards future infectious diseases of public health importance similar to Covid-19.

Methods: This was a secondary analysis of unconventional data collected using Google Forms and online social media platforms during the COVID-19 lockdown between April and June 2020 in Nigeria.
