Objective: This study aimed to clarify the antibacterial and antibiofilm effects of ferulic acid against periodontal pathogenic bacteria.
Design: The cytotoxicity of ferulic acid was examined using the MTT assay on the human oral epithelial cell line Ca9-22. To determine the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) and minimum bactericidal concentration, Porphyromonas gingivalis ATCC 33277, Fusobacterium nucleatum ATCC 25586, Prevotella intermedia ATCC 25611, Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans JP2, and Streptococcus mitis ATCC 903 were treated with ferulic acid.
Treatments for tuberculosis remain lengthy, motivating a search for new drugs with novel mechanisms of action. However, it remains challenging to determine the direct targets of a drug and which disrupted cellular processes lead to bacterial killing. We developed a computational tool, DECIPHAER (decoding cross-modal information of pharmacologies via autoencoders), to select the important correlated transcriptional and morphological responses of Mycobacterium tuberculosis to treatment.

Despite many studies on the lab-scale wood-decay process, investigations on the open-field process have been limited by their difficulty.

Despite its unknown etiology, immune dysregulation is regarded as a critical trigger for delineating the pathophysiology of MMD. The gut microbiota produces short-chain fatty (SCFA) and organic acids, influencing immune regulation and vascular remodeling.
