Background: Single-cell genomics is revolutionizing plant developmental biology, enabling the transcriptome profiling of individual cells and their lineage relationships. However, plant cell walls polymers hamper the dissociation and analysis of intact cells. This rigid structure can conceal cell types embedded in complex, lignified, multi-cell layered tissues such as those undergoing secondary growth.

Birth sex ratio biases can amplify extinction risks, especially in small, zoo-maintained populations which is of particular concern in species under threat of extinction. Thus, understanding the drivers of such biases is critical for conservation outcomes. We analysed birth records from 129 avian and 324 mammalian species in zoos worldwide between 1980 and 2021.

The European Union's Birds and Habitats Directives are intended to guarantee the persistence of species and natural habitats across member states. To achieve this laudable aim, the Natura 2000 network of protected areas was established in 1992. Since then, member states are required to regularly monitor species and habitats and report findings to the European Commission, which requires substantial investment from all countries.

Introduction: The early identification of conditions that lead to increased myocardial wall thickness, such as transthyretin amyloid cardiomyopathy (ATTR-CM), severe aortic stenosis (AS), hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM), and hypertensive heart disease (HHD), is challenging due to overlapping features. Delayed diagnosis can postpone appropriate treatment and worsen prognosis. This study aimed to evaluate the frequency of key electrocardiographic patterns in these conditions, with a specific emphasis on differentiating ATTR-CM from other causes of wall thickening.

Purpose: Eccentric cycling has gained attention as a novel exercise modality that increases muscle performance at lower metabolic demand, which could enhance cardiovascular rehabilitation. However, endothelial function response to eccentric cycling (ECC) has yielded contradictory results. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to determine the effect of 30 min of moderate-intensity cycling ECC on endothelial function.
