The sarcomeric protein cardiac myosin binding protein-C (cMyBP-C) binds myosin on thick filaments and regulates cardiac myocyte contraction. Our lab has reported that permeabilized cardiac myocytes lacking cMyBP-C generate greater power and show disproportionately fast sarcomere shortening velocities at high loads. Also, high resolution X-ray diffraction of cardiac trabeculae found that myosin cross-bridges in the cMyBP-C zone are the most active during loaded contractions.

Although professional societies and practice guidelines call for equitable tobacco treatment delivery in healthcare, disparities in tobacco-related disease burden persist.
Methods: In the context of an outpatient US cancer center's population-based tobacco treatment program, this study examines associations between cancer survivors' rural and Appalachian residence status and: 1) current tobacco use status, 2) decision to decline tobacco treatment, and 3) reason for declining assistance.

Background: Toilet training practices vary across cultures and time. Assisted Infant Toilet Training (AITT) is commonly used in low- and middle-income countries.
Objectives: To synthesise the literature on AITT, including timing of initiation and completion, infant elimination signalling, and associations with bladder and bowel dysfunction.
Improved low-frequency sensitivity of gravitational wave observatories would unlock study of intermediate-mass black hole mergers and binary black hole eccentricity and provide early warnings for multimessenger observations of binary neutron star mergers. Today's mirror stabilization control injects harmful noise, constituting a major obstacle to sensitivity improvements. We eliminated this noise through Deep Loop Shaping, a reinforcement learning method using frequency domain rewards.

Previous research has successfully reduced animal protein inclusion to ~15% by using solvent-extracted soybean meal (SBM) as the primary protein source. Further cost savings may be achieved by incorporating other low-cost alternatives, such as corn fermented protein (CFP), a new sustainable ingredient produced using Fluid Quip Technologies.
