Antibiotics administration during last trimester of pregnancy is associated with atopic dermatitis - a cross-sectional study.

Introduction: Studies regarding antibiotics administration during pregnancy and atopic dermatitis (AD) in children are only few. In this context, the objective of our study was to investigate the potential association between the timing of intrauterine exposure to antibiotics or prenatal antibiotic administration in general and AD occurrence in children.

Methods: This was a cross-sectional study in 1046 subjects.

Posterior Capsule Opacification and Nd-YAG rates evaluation in a large series of pseudophakic cases.

Purpose: To evaluate the influence of Intraocular Lens (IOL) material and design on Posterior Capsule Opacification (PCO) and Neodymium-YAG (Nd-YAG) rates in eyes implanted with different Posterior Chamber Intraocular Lenses (PC IOLs) designs at the end of uncomplicated cataract surgeries.

Setting: Oculus Eye Clinic, Bucharest, Romania.

Design: Retrospective, observational study.

A case of a generalized symptomatic calcinosis in systemic sclerosis.

Calcinosis consists of abnormal calcium deposition in soft tissues, which appears often in patients with limited systemic sclerosis, being one of the criteria of CREST (calcinosis cutis, Raynaud phenomenon, esophageal dysfunction, sclerodactyly, and telangiectasia) syndrome. With a long evolution, the aim of the treatment is to control the symptoms and prevent complications. In this article, we present the challenging management of a profuse lesion of calcinosis in a patient with systemic sclerosis.
