Understanding solute and reactive transport in triple porosity systems─comprising conduits, fractures, and a porous rock matrix─is essential for a wide range of subsurface processes and applications. The inherent heterogeneity of these systems, along with solute exchange between high- and low-permeability regions, results in anomalous transport, including early solute arrivals and prolonged residence times. A key challenge in studying these processes is the inability to directly observe the subsurface transport mechanisms.

Variations in skin thickness and contours pose significant challenges to reconstruction of the lower third of the nose. Human amniotic membrane allograft offers a potential alternative to tissue transfer in reconstruction of the lower third of the nose. We reviewed the procedure and photographs of a healthy 56-year-old male with a 22 × 18 mm lower third nasal defect involving full thickness skin and subcutaneous tissue.

Objectives: Transoral laser microsurgery (TLM) has been increasingly used in lieu of total laryngectomy to treat malignancy after definitive radiation. There are few data in the literature regarding functional outcomes. We retrospectively reviewed voice and swallowing outcomes in patients who underwent TLM for recurrent laryngeal carcinoma.

Objectives/hypothesis: Transoral laser microsurgery (TLM) continues to gain popularity as a treatment modality for early glottic cancer. Oncologic outcomes have been well-defined, but there are little data to date describing functional outcomes accounting for stage of resection.

Study Design: Retrospective review.

Sialadenoma papilliferum is a rare benign salivary gland tumor. We present an unusual case of sialadenoma papilliferum of the parotid gland, discuss clinical presentation, diagnostic challenges, and review of the literature. A 65-year-old male smoker presented with a large, exophytic, fungating, painless mass in the tail parotid for 8 years.
