Objective: Whether dissociation and depression are distinct constructs remains controversial. The aim of this study was to explore the interrelations and associated factors between them.
Methods: This study included inpatients with major depressive disorder (MDD) and bipolar disorder with major depressive episode (BD).
Clozapine treatment continues to be recognized as the gold standard for managing treatment-resistant schizophrenia. Combining clozapine with other antipsychotics (i.e.

There have been no studies to examine temporal trends in the pharmacological treatment of OABD. We aimed to investigate prescription changes among OABD patients discharged from two public mental hospitals in Taiwan from 2006 to 2019.

The healthcare utilization and expenditure of T2DM patients with (case group) and without (control group) GAD between 2002 and 2013 were examined using the population-based Taiwan National Health Insurance Research Database. Healthcare utilization included outpatient visits and hospitalization; health expenditure included outpatient, inpatient, and total medical expenditure.

Pharmacological therapy, including antipsychotics and mood stabilizers, is the primary treatment approach for manic episode. The study aimed to analyze prescribing patterns over a 14-year period for patients with bipolar mania discharged from a psychiatric hospital in Taiwan.

Schizophrenia patients discharged from the study hospital between 2006 and 2021 (n = 16,722) were included in the analysis. The logistic regression model was employed to determine the predictors significantly associated with APP use.

Few studies have analyzed the relation of dissociative and psychotic symptoms transdiagnostically. The current study examines an emerging trauma-dissociation theoretical model that accounts for psychotic symptoms across affective disorders and schizophrenia (SCZ).

Background: Some schizophrenia patients treated with clozapine experience an inadequate response and adherence problems. The purpose of this study was to compare time to rehospitalization within 6 months in schizophrenia patients discharged on 3 clozapine regimens. Additionally, the temporal trend of prescription rate in each group was also explored.

Antidepressants are the first-line treatment for major depressive disorder, but if patients don't respond adequately, brain stimulation therapy may be needed as second-line treatment. Digital phenotyping in patients with major depressive disorder will aid in the timely prediction of treatment effectiveness.

Studies have revealed that the risk of neutropenia increases with concurrent administration of valproate, but the evidence was limited. Conversely, lithium may have an ameliorating effect on clozapine-induced neutropenia.

Background: The pathogenic role of trauma in psychotic-like experiences has yet to be clarified. The aim of this study was to investigate the role of childhood and adulthood trauma on erroneous thoughts among patients with major depressive disorder.
Materials And Methods: Inpatients with major depressive disorder (MDD) and healthy controls (HCs) were enrolled, and paper-and-pencil questionnaires were applied.
Background: Patients with either diabetes (DM) or depression (DP) are prone to developing other diseases and require more medical resources than do the general population. This study aimed to examine health-related quality of life, medical resource use, and physical function of patients with both diabetes mellitus and depression, and the magnitude of effects among patients with different combinations of comorbid diseases.
Methods: A retrospective cross-sectional study was conducted using the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey data from 2009 to 2014.
Background: For bipolar disorder, a severe, recurring mental disorder, pharmacotherapy is a cornerstone of effective treatment. The purpose of this study was to investigate prescribing changes among patients with bipolar disorder discharged from two public psychiatric hospitals in Taiwan over a 14-year period.
Methods: Patients with bipolar disorder discharged from the two study hospitals between 2006 and 2019 (n = 9071) were included in the analysis.

Background: Previous studies suggest the association between early-life weight gain and asthma. It remains unclear whether early-life weight gain is associated with atopic or non-atopic asthma. This study aimed to investigate whether early-life weight gain is associated with atopic or non-atopic asthma.

Background: We aimed to investigate factors associated with concomitant laxative use among elderly patients with schizophrenia, discharged on second-generation antipsychotics (SGAs), from two large public psychiatric hospitals in Taiwan.
Methods: Elderly patients with schizophrenia who were discharged between 2006 and 2019 and received SGA monotherapy at discharge were included in the analysis. Multivariate logistic regression was used to identify factors associated with regular laxative use at discharge.
Background: Involuntarily hospitalized individuals suffering from schizophrenia often have a poorer prognosis after discharge.
Objective: This study aimed to analyze time to rehospitalization within 6 months of discharge in involuntarily hospitalized individuals suffering from schizophrenia discharged on long-acting injectable antipsychotics (LAIs) or oral antipsychotics (OAPs). In addition, temporal trends in LAI use at discharge were explored.
Objectives: We explored the relationships between depression and pain during acute electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) and the follow-up period for patients with treatment-resistant depression and concomitant pain.
Methods: During the acute ECT phase, treatment-resistant depression patients (N = 97) were randomized to receive ECT plus agomelatine 50 mg/d, or ECT plus placebo. Depression and pain severities were measured using the 17-item Hamilton Depression Rating Scale (HAMD-17), and the pain subscale of the Depression and Somatic Symptoms Scale at baseline, after every 3 ECT treatments, and after acute ECT.

Background: The effect of dissociation and parenting style on the relationship between psychological trauma and psychotic symptoms has not previously been investigated.
Objective: The aim of this study was to develop a moderated mediation model to assess whether the association between psychological trauma and psychotic symptoms is mediated by dissociation and moderated by parental maltreatment.
Methods: Inpatients with major depressive disorder (MDD) and bipolar depression (BP) were recruited.
Purpose: This retrospective cohort study aimed at determining whether the daily administration pattern of risperidone influences time to rehospitalization in patients with schizophrenia. Previous studies have related more frequent dosing to poor medication adherence. This causes suboptimal disease control, which entails shorter times between hospital admissions.

The present study aimed to investigate the predictors for failed switching from clozapine to paliperidone (FSCP) among patients with chronic schizophrenia. This 9-year (January 2010-December 2018) retrospective study included 78 individuals with schizophrenia who wished to switch from clozapine to paliperidone and resided in a nursing home in Taiwan.
