Mitochondrial function plays a crucial role in understanding the pathogenesis of acute myocardial infarction. This study investigates mitochondrial function-related genes (MFRGs) in acute myocardial infarction (AMI) through bioinformatics and rigorous experimental validation. Using three integrated GEO datasets (149 samples: 80 AMI, 69 control), we applied machine learning methods (Random Forest, Support Vector Machine, Least Absolute Shrinkage and Selection Operator), phenotype scoring, consensus clustering, and weighted gene co-expression network analysis in three subgrouping stages to refine the selection of MFRGs.

This study aimed to investigate the relationship between carotid plaque echogenicity and plaque regression in patients receiving lipid-lowering therapy, and to identify ultrasound characteristics that might predict plaque regression.
Methods: A total of 838 patients with carotid plaques receiving lipid-lowering therapy were enrolled between July 2020 and May 2024 and followed up for 12 months.
Introduction: Acute myocardial infarction (AMI) is a critical condition that can lead to ischemic cardiomyopathy (ICM), a subsequent heart failure state characterized by compromised cardiac function.
Methods: This study investigates the role of mitophagy in the transition from AMI to ICM. We analyzed AMI and ICM datasets from GEO, identifying mitophagy-related differentially expressed genes (MRDEGs) through databases like GeneCards and Molecular Signatures Database, followed by functional enrichment and Protein-Protein Interaction analyses.

Background: Atherosclerosis is a lipid-driven, systemic immune-inflammatory disease characterized by the accumulation of plaque within the arterial walls. Plaque regression can occur following appropriate treatment interventions. Optical coherence tomography (OCT), a high-resolution imaging modality, is frequently employed to assess plaque morphology.

The perioperative period encompasses all phases of patient care from the decision to perform surgery until full recovery. Ferroptosis, a newly identified type of regulated cell death, influences a wide array of diseases, including those affecting the prognosis and regression of surgical patients, such as ischemia-reperfusion injury and perioperative cognitive dysfunction. This review systematically examines perioperative factors impacting ferroptosis such as surgical trauma-induced stress, tissue hypoxia, anesthetics, hypothermia, and blood transfusion.

Background: Chinese chest pain centers (CPCs) have been expanding and maturing for the past decade, but patient wait times for pre-hospital care remain long.
Objective: To demonstrate that the remote electrocardiogram (ECG) monitoring system can ensure more efficient treatment for patients with ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) in CPCs, we compared patients with high-risk chest pain who used remote ECG monitoring systems to those who used conventional ECGs in retrospective cohort study.
Methods: Based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria, 290 patients who visited our CPC between June 2019 and March 2022 with acute chest pain and a diagnosis of STEMI as well as patients who had undergone an emergency primary percutaneous coronary intervention were selected.

Background: This study was aimed at exploring the biological function and molecular mechanism of ferroptosis of LRP6 modulation in cardiomyocytes of myocardial infarction (MI).
Method: We established the ferroptosis model of MI in vivo and in vitro and constructed the modulation network of circRNA-miRNA-LRP6 by bioinformatics analysis; then, we focused on exploring the regulatory relationship of LRP6 and its upstream genes circRNA1615 and miR-152-3p in the RIP experiments and the double luciferase reporter gene assay. Also, we tested the LRP6-mediated autophagy-related ferroptosis in MI.

Background: Coronary artery ectasia (CAE) is an angiographic finding of abnormal coronary dilatation. Inflammation plays a major role in all phases of atherosclerosis. We investigated the relationship between CAE and serum high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) and interleukin-6 (IL-6) levels to test our hypothesis that patient age is associated with the efficacy of anti-inflammatory therapy for CAE.

The symptoms included fever, coughing, and breathing difficulties. A few patients with this infection may only have atypical symptoms, which could lead to a misdiagnosis and subsequently further facilitate the spread of the virus.
