This review examines the changing interpretation of obesity in art throughout history. From prehistoric times, where weight symbolized fertility and abundance, to modern periods where it was linked to morality, sin, or decadence, art has mirrored evolving societal views on the human body. These representations reflect shifts in cultural, social, and economic values, illustrating how perceptions of health, beauty, and morality have transformed through time.

Liraglutide effectiveness in preoperative weight-loss for patients with severe obesity undergoing bariatric-metabolic surgery.

Preoperative management of patients living with severe obesity can be challenging; in this context, the preoperative weight loss may help to obtain better outcomes and less morbidity for bariatric surgery. Therefore, we evaluated the effectiveness of GLP-1 analogue Liraglutide in preoperative weight loss. We performed a single-center, quasi-experimental prospective study.
