Hypomethylating agent (HMA) plus venetoclax (VEN) regimens are standard of care in patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) ineligible for intensive chemotherapy. While the VEN label recommends continuous 28-day cycles, shortened VEN durations may induce similar response rates and improve tolerability. It is unknown how a VEN exposure reduced to 7 days during cycles compares to standard HMA + VEN.

Background: Kidney involvement, along with cardiac disease, is the most frequent manifestation of systemic AL amyloidosis, usually resulting in nephrotic-range proteinuria. Rarely, deposits predominantly or exclusively affect the intrarenal arterioles or arteries, with these vascular-limited forms following a distinct clinical course, but very little is known about these forms. The emergence of SARS-CoV-2 Omicron variant has led to a complete reconfiguration of the therapeutic landscape, with all monoclonal antibodies having lost any neutralization activity. We report here a case series of 75 immunocompromised patients infected by the Omicron variant who benefited from COVID-19 convalescent plasma (CCP). At Day 28, the overall survival was 76% (95% CI 67-86) with no significant difference in the clinical outcome between patients with hematological malignancies, solid organ transplantation or autoimmune diseases.

Objectives: Antibiotics for febrile neutropenia (FN) in acute myeloid leukaemia (AML) patients undergoing intensive chemotherapy are usually maintained until neutropenia resolution, because of the risk of uncontrolled sepsis in this vulnerable population. This leads to unnecessarily prolonged antimicrobial therapy.
