PurposeTo investigate the differences in punctal dimensions, tear meniscus height (TMH), and cornea epithelium among medically controlled glaucoma patients using anterior segment optical coherence tomography (AS-OCT) and evaluate the parameters that affect the results.MethodsThis cross-sectional, observational study included 80 subjects with primary open-angle glaucoma and 80 normal subjects without glaucoma and ocular symptoms. AS-OCT was used to measure TMH, outer punctal diameter (OPD), punctal depth (PD), and central corneal epithelial thickness (CCET).

Factors affecting the duration of air tamponade following vitreoretinal surgery.

Purpose: Air as a tamponade in pars plana vitrectomy (PPV) is increasingly preferred due to its quick rehabilitation time. We aim to examine the factors affecting the absorption time of air tamponade.

Method: The study included 82 eyes from 78 patients who underwent PPV with air used as the tamponade.

Methods: This cross-sectional study evaluated 120 ophthalmology residency PDs from 120 ophthalmology residency programs during the 2022 San Francisco Match.

Short-term Effect of Strabismus Surgery on Choroidal Vasculature.

Purpose: To investigate the effect of strabismus surgery on choroidal structure using the binarization method.

Methods: Forty-two eyes of 27 patients who had surgery for horizontal strabismus were included in the study. Optical coherence tomography (OCT) images of the patients before the operation and at 1 day and 1 week after the operation were binarized.

Purpose: The aim of our study is to evaluate the relationship between iron deficiency anemia (IDA), which is a common and often chronic condition in young women, and the optical coherence tomography (OCT) findings, which have become an indispensable part of ophthalmology practice. We aim to identify a new biomarker for anemia evaluation by demonstrating the morphological changes in the eye before and after iron replacement treatment through OCT findings.

Methods This cross-sectional study evaluated 116 ophthalmology residency programs in the US participating in the 2022 San Francisco Match.

Evaluation of the efficacy of anti-vascular endothelial growth factors in diabetic macular edema with retinal inner and outer layers disorganization.

Aims: This study aims to compare the effectiveness of treatment between anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (anti-VEGF) agents in diabetic macular edema (DME) patients with disorganization of retinal inner layers (DRIL). Epiretinal membrane, serous macular detachment, ellipsoid zone (EZ) disorder, external limiting membrane (ELM) disorder, and hyperreflective foci were also examined.

Our aim in this study is to evaluate whether a foresight about the prognosis of patients with CSCR can be obtained by optical coherence tomography (OCT) findings.

Materials And Methods: Patients diagnosed with chronic CSCR at Fatih Sultan Mehmet Research and Training Hospital, Ophthalmology Department, were screened between January 2017 and September 2019, and 30 patients were included in the study.

The purpose of this study is to compare the efficacy and safety of 577-nm subthreshold micropulse laser (SML) and intravitreal bevacizumab injection (IVB) combined therapy with IVB monotherapy in the treatment of diabetic macular edema (DME). This retrospective study included 80 eyes of 80 patients; 40 eyes were treated with IVB monotherapy, and 40 eyes were treated with SML-IVB combined therapy. The mean number of required IVB injections and changes of best corrected visual acuity (BCVA) and central macular thickness (CMT) values were compared between the groups.

Uveal melanoma (UM), the most frequently occurring non-cutaneous melanoma and most common primary intraocular malignancy in adults, arises from the melanocytes of the choroid in approximately 95% of cases. Prompt diagnosis and treatment is vital as primary tumor size is one of the key factors associated with survival. Despite recent advances in management, more than half of the patients develop metastatic disease which portends poor survival.
