Introduction: This study's purpose was to analyse disease and non-battle injury (DNBI) incidence trends in US military personnel from 2010 to 2021 to understand implications for medical readiness.

Methods: A retrospective cohort of deidentified DNBI cases was developed from the person-event data environment for all military personnel between 2010 and 2021. Chronic and acute conditions were identified using the clinical classification software for categorising International Classification of Disease-9-Clinical Modification (ICD-9-CM) codes and clinical classification software refined for categorising ICD-10-CM codes.

Background: Patients with Brugada syndrome (BrS) have a risk of sudden cardiac death, often linked to mutations in the SCN5A gene. Electrical storms (ESs) in this population are life-threatening and typically require urgent administration of isoproterenol; however, in resource-limited settings, alternative pharmacologic strategies may be required. The management of ES in BrS is complex and often relies on case reports due to the rarity of the condition.

Laryngeal dystonia is a task-specific, focal dystonia that disrupts vocal-motor control and significantly alters quality of life through impaired communication. Despite its early onset in many hereditary dystonias, effective treatments remain limited, in part due to the lack of a preclinical model that captures its circuit-level pathophysiology. Our experiment evaluates ultrasonic vocalizations (USVs) in ; mice, a cerebellum-specific generalized dystonia model, to assess translational relevance for laryngeal dystonia.
