Background: Cardiac resynchronization therapy with defibrillator therapy (CRT-D) has revolutionized the treatment of heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (EF) among a select group of patients with wide QRS. While outcomes in the short- and medium-term post-CRT have been extensively reported, data on very long-term outcomes (10+ years) are limited.

Objectives: The authors aimed to study outcomes of CRT over very long terms of 10+ years.

Eosinophilic Endomyocarditis After COVID-19 Infection in a Heart Transplant Recipient.

Eosinophilic myocarditis (EM) is a rare cause of heart failure, with high in-hospital mortality associated with fulminant disease. A 61-year-old female transplant recipient was diagnosed with COVID-19 after presenting with 2 days of constitutional symptoms. She developed acute heart failure from EM.

Indications and outcomes of elective open chest lead extractions.

Background: Complications associated with cardiovascular implantable electronic devices may necessitate device and lead removal. An open approach to removal may be electively chosen in cases with high risk of complications or those requiring additional concomitant cardiac surgery.
