In specific conditions, these antiplatelet agents are employed as adjuvant to mechanical thrombectomy (MT), a procedure that is crucial for patients with acute ischemic stroke (AIS) with large vessel occlusion (LVO). However, direct comparisons of these drugs in this context remain limited.

Although widely applied, their performance in Colombia's population remains unclear. The study aimed to characterize a Colombian SpA cohort, identify factors associated with peripheral SpA (pSpA), compare SpA subtypes, assess the performance of ASAS criteria, and compare them with modified New York (mNY) and European Spondyloarthropathy Study Group (ESSG) criteria.

Objective: This paper sought to describe the clinical findings, laboratory and imaging results, and hospital care provided for severe and critical cases of COVID-19 in unvaccinated children, with or without severe asthma, hospitalized in a public referral service for COVID-19 treatment in the Brazilian state of Pernambuco.

Association between Food Insecurity and Overweight: a Systematic Review based on Intersectionality of Gender and Race/Color.

Context: The relationship between Food Insecurity (FI) and health conditions such as chronic diseases, including obesity, has been discussed in the literature. However, discourse on the association of FI with other social vulnerabilities is a relatively new and less elucidated area.

Objective: Considering the evidence that gender and race/color are factors of interest in the relationship between FI and overweight, in this study we aimed to carry out a systematic review to analyze the state of knowledge about this relationship and how the intersectionality of these factors permeates the association of FI and overweight in the Brazilian population.

Evaluation of strategies for the diagnosis of Chagas disease in an endemic area: SaMi-Trop study.

This study aims to evaluate strategies for diagnosing Chagas disease (CD) using rapid tests and risk questions in an endemic area. This is an analytical cross-sectional study conducted with 751 individuals from two municipalities in an endemic region for CD in the North of Minas Gerais State, Brazil. Participants answered a questionnaire with personal information and the risk criteria for CD infection recommended by the Clinical Protocol and Therapeutic Guidelines for Chagas disease (PCDT).

Two yeast isolates from passion flowers were sampled in the southern part of the Serra do Mar Atlantic Rainforest in Sao Paulo State, Brazil. Efficacy and Safety of Mechanical Thrombectomy for Patients with Infective Endocarditis-Related Large Vessel Occlusion: a Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.

Introduction: Acute ischemic stroke (AIS) is the most common neurological complication of infective endocarditis (IE), occurring in 20-40% of patients. In this context, while mechanical thrombectomy (MT) is the standard treatment for patients with AIS due to large-vessel occlusion (LVO), its efficacy and safety in patients with stroke secondary to IE remain unclear.

Objective: Therefore, a more robust analysis of the efficacy and safety of MT in patients with AIS due to IE was conducted to address the gaps identified in previous studies.

Purpose: To evaluate the effectiveness and biocompatibility of a three-dimensional (3D) thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) prosthesis for repairing partial tracheal defects using 3D printing with fused deposition modelling.

Methods: Thirty-two rabbits underwent partial resection of five tracheal rings and were divided into two groups: the muscular flap group (GFM), which received a sternocephalic muscle flap over the defect; and the TPE group (GTPE), which received a 3D-printed TPE prosthesis. Clinical evaluations were performed at seven, 15, 30, and 60 days postoperatively.

[Protection network for the human right to adequate food and the food insecurity: a cohort in the semi-arid Northeast].

This study analyzes the length of time living with Food Insecurity (AI) and access to government programs, identifying the protection network for the human right to adequate food (DHAA) accessed by families in the Brazilian semi-arid region between 2011 and 2019. It is about a cohort in Cuité, Paraíba, with collections in 2011, 2014, and 2019. The time of coexistence with AI was analyzed with the classification into persistent food safety, one-time AI, two-time AI, and persistent AI, based on the definition of security and insecurity in the Brazilian Food Insecurity Scale.

Taxogenomic analysis of Pichia senei sp. nov. and new insights into hybridization events in the Pichia cactophila species complex.

Three strains of a novel yeast species were isolated from necrotic cactus tissues of Cereus saddianus and Micranthocereus dolichospermaticus and from phytotelmata of Bromelia karatas. DNA sequence analysis of the Internal Transcribed Spacer (ITS) region and D1/D2 domains of the large subunit ribosomal RNA, along with whole genome phylogenomic analysis, showed that this yeast is most closely related to Pichia insulana, Pichia cactophila, and Pichia inconspicua. The new species differs by 10-13 nucleotide substitutions from these species in D1/D2 sequences and exhibits <90% genome-wide average nucleotide identity to them.

Two yeast isolates of a novel d-xylose-fermenting species were obtained from rotting wood and gut of a passalid beetle collected in the Brazilian Amazonian Rainforest biome. Sequence analysis of the internal transcribed spacer-5.8S region and the D1/D2 domains of the LSU rRNA gene showed that the isolates represent a novel species of the genus , phylogenetically related to .

The Acute Effects of Walking With Blood Flow Restriction on Learning of a Visuomotor Tracking Task.

We investigated the acute effect of Walking with Blood Flow Restriction (W-BFR) after practicing a Visuomotor Tracking Task (VTT) on retention and retrieval during motor learning. Additionally, we investigated the influence of BFR on mood states, pain levels, and perceived exertion. Ninety participants were allocated to three groups: WALKING (motor practice + walking), RESTRICTION (motor practice + W-BFR), and CONTROL (motor practice + rest).

Objectives: Cancer incidence has been increasing in Europe, with stark disparities between Western and Eastern regions. Thus, we investigated the interactions among kinematic variables, training characteristics and demographics with PFP occurrence in runners. In this secondary analysis from cross-sectional data, we included 83 runners, 42 with PFP and 41 without PFP.

Association of Localized Retinal Sensitivities with Spectral-Domain Optical Coherence Tomography-Derived Morphologic Data in Macular Subfields in Age-Related Macular Degeneration.

Introduction: This study investigated microperimetry-derived retinal sensitivity and optical coherence tomography (OCT)-based macular morphologic data in eyes with early and intermediate age-related macular degeneration (AMD). The respective metrics were compared between macular subfields and their associations were determined. Detailed knowledge of functional associations with morphology is an asset to future therapeutic trial design.
