Introduction: Capacitive-resistive electrical transfer (CRET) is an endogenous non-invasive technique, used as deep diathermy. We pursue to analyze the temperature changes by applying different CRET protocols in the thoracolumbar spine of horses, between thoracic vertebrae 15 and lumbar 2.
Methods: Ten clinically sound horses without thoracolumbar pain underwent various CRET protocols applied to a standardized thoracolumbar region (T15-L2).
Continued alcohol use despite negative consequences is a defining feature of alcohol use disorder (AUD). It remains poorly understood whether individual variability in drinking despite negative consequences is due to inherent differences or emerges after prolonged alcohol use. The goal of the present study was to use a rat model of drinking despite negative consequences to assess individual differences in foot shock-punished alcohol self-administration prior to and following alcohol vapor exposure in male Wistar rats.

Recently, fish consumption has been increasing; subsequently, the number of by-products has also increased. However, generated residues are frequently discarded, and an appropriate management is necessary to properly use all fish by-products. Fishery by-products are well known for their content of bioactive compounds, such as unsaturated fatty acids, amino acids, minerals, peptides, enzymes, gelatin, collagen, and chitin.

Physical exercise, such as Water Aerobics (WA), improves general health, quality of life and symptoms as a low impact activity that allows social interactions. Preliminary results suggest a relationship between dopamine and psychotic symptoms, through SP transcription factors, SP1 and SP4 biomarkers.

In this study, we propose a proof of concept for a methodology employing molecular dynamics (MD) simulations to guide the selection of functional monomers for curcuminoid binding in MIPs. Curcumin, demethoxycurcumin, and bisdemethoxycurcumin are phenolic compounds widely employed as spices, pigments, additives, and therapeutic agents, representing the three main curcuminoids of interest.

The attributed benefits of these changes have been linked to improved athletic performance, enhanced muscle flexibility and fastening recovery from exercise-induced fatigue. For all of this, the present research aims to investigate whether the application of CRET 24 h before exercise affects the accelerometric pattern in horses during exercise.

In some patients, deterioration of graft function occurred several months after observing a graft-derived functional improvement. Rejection of peripheral organs was initially related to HLA-specific antibodies.

In this study, the characteristics of color, carotenoid content, tocopherols, and volatile aroma compounds in eight sacha inchi seed (Plukenetia volubilis L.) oil accessions were evaluated.

However, it requires financial investment, is time-consuming, and lacks accuracy if displaced. An innovative artificial intelligence marker-less motion tracking system (AI-MTS) may overcome these limitations in the field.

The symptomatology is similar among these viruses and frequently co-circulates in the same areas, making the diagnosis arduous. Although there are different methods for detecting and quantifying pathogens, real-time reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (real-time RT-qPCR) has become a leading technique for detecting viruses.

To evaluate the osteogenic potential of platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) and low-level laser therapy (LLLT) on human stem cells from the apical papilla (SCAP) we isolated, characterized, and then cultured in an osteogenic medium cells with PRF and/or LLLT (660 nm, 6 J/m2-irradiation). Osteogenic differentiation was assessed by bone nodule formation and expression of bone morphogenetic proteins (BMP-2 and BMP-4), whereas the molecular mechanisms were achieved by qRT-PCR and RNA-seq analysis. Statistical analysis was performed by ANOVA and Tukey's post hoc tests (p < 0.

The clinical symptoms of this disease are fever, polyarthralgia, and skin rash, generally self-limiting, although patients may develop a chronic disabling condition or suffer lethal complications. Unfortunately, there is no specific treatment or vaccine available.

To carry out the optimization, the response surface methodology was applied using a Box-Behnken experimental design with 15 experiments for which different conditions of temperature (X), drying time (X) and vacuum pressure (X) were established. The response variables were the content of total polyphenols, the content of flavanols and the radical scavenging activity evaluated in the extracts of the different experiments.

Since around half of the patients treated with NAT do not achieve a pathologically complete response (pCR), biomarkers to predict resistance are urgently needed. The correlation of clinicopathological factors with pCR was studied in 150 patients (HER2 = 81; TN = 69) and pre- and post-NAT differences in tumour biomarkers were compared.

Berries, in particular, have been reported as potentially having an inhibitory effect on the dental biofilm and subsequently on caries, but the evidence is unclear.
Objective: The objective of this review was to explore the literature and summarize the evidence for berries having an inhibitory effect on the dental biofilm and an anticariogenic effect.
