Objective: Health care professionals who hold a specialist certification typically have a high perceived value of their credential. However, the perceived value of the board-certified specialist in renal nutrition (CSR) credential has not been studied. This study evaluated the perceived value of the CSR credential among registered dietitian nutritionists (RDNs) using the Perceived Value of Certification Tool (PVCT©) and explored differences in perceived values among those who did and did not receive reimbursement for taking the credentialing examination.
