Dengue Fever Knowledge and Awareness Among University Students in Taiz Governorate, Yemen: A Cross-Sectional Study.

Background And Aim: Dengue fever (DF) is a mosquito-borne viral disease of great health threat in Yemen. DF is an endemic disease with many outbreaks in Taiz governorate. Among Yemeni communities, university students play an important role in increasing knowledge and good health practices to fight DF.

Treatment with cefiderocol in KPC nosocomial external ventricular drainage meningitis: A brief report.

We report the case of successful use of cefiderocol (FDC) in a (CPKP) post-surgical meningitis in a 44-year-old man treated with antimicrobial therapy and external ventricular drainage (EVD). The patient was known for being colonised by CPKP; for this reason, therapy with ceftazidime/avibactam (CZA) plus fosfomycin and linezolid was started. After an initial response a CZA resistant CPKP strain was isolated from CSF culture, so the antibiotic therapy was modified to FDC with trimethoprim/sulfamethoxazole for 14 days, and EVD was replaced.

Early infant feeding and allergic respiratory diseases in Ibb city, Yemen.

Background: Allergic respiratory diseases (ARD) are a highly prevalent health problem affecting infants and children in Yemen. Early infant feeding predisposition to the development of ARD has been a controversial question. The aim of this study is to investigate the association between early feeding before 6 months of age and the development of ARD among children attending Childhood and Maternity Public Hospital (CMPH), Ibb, Yemen Republic.

Trends and In-Hospital Outcomes of Patients Admitted with ST Elevation Myocardial Infarction and Chronic Total Occlusions: Insights from a National Database.

Chronic total occlusion (CTO) is seen in a minority of ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) patients and is implicated in poor outcomes due to "double jeopardy." There is no large national data evaluating the trend and outcomes of STEMI patients who have a CTO (STEMI-CTO). We analyzed the Nationwide In-patients sample database from 2008 to 2011 and compared the trends, clinical characteristics, and in-hospital outcomes of STEMI patients with and without CTO.

Role of polymeric materials in preventing COVID-19 infection.

The safety of personal protective equipment (PPE) is very important, and so is the choice of materials used. The ability of electrostatic charges (ESCs) generated from the friction of engineered materials to attract or repel viruses has a significant impact on their applications. This study examined the ESCs generated on the surface of PPE used by healthcare workers to enhance their potential effectiveness in protecting the wearer from viruses.

Does the adaptation of climate-smart agricultural practices increase farmers' resilience to climate change?

Traditional agricultural practices, extensive use of inputs, and abrupt changes in climate have been of great concern to agriculture production around the world, especially in developing countries. Therefore, it is very vital to adopt and expand Climate-Smart agricultural (CSA) practices. By the cross-sectional data of 350 cotton farmers from major cotton-growing districts of Punjab Pakistan, adoption of CSA practices such as irrigation and soil and crop management practices is evaluated, and factors which affect farmer adoption decision and its impact on poverty, income, and yield are estimated by using logistic regression and propensity score matching (PSM) respectively.
