This study investigates the electrochemical determination of dicamba (3,6-dichloro-2-methoxybenzoic acid, DIC) and 2,4-D-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D) using a palladium (Pd)-decorated multiphase composite electrode (TiN/TiO/MgTiO/MgTiO) denoted as Pd@MPC. The synergistic coexistence and contact between these phases improved the electrochemical performance of the material and provided complementary properties such as electrical conductivity (from TiN and Pd), chemical stability (of MgTiO), and surface reactivity (of TiO and Pd), which are crucial for efficient electroanalytical applications. The electrode material was characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), which confirmed the successful incorporation of Pd nanoparticles and significantly improved the catalytic properties.

SARS-CoV-2 has an affinity for binding to the human Angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) receptor through cleavage and conformational changes at the S1-S2 boundary and the receptor binding domain of the spike protein, which is also the most variable part of SARS-CoV-2. This study aimed to investigate the expression of Angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2), spike protein, and CD68+ markers in placental tissue to demonstrate a possible correlation with the level of systemic oxidative stress biomarkers in patients who were infected with SARS-CoV-2 during pregnancy. The impact of the SARS-CoV-2 viral infection during pregnancy on the fetus can be direct-transmitted through the placenta-and indirect-creating unfavorable conditions for the development of the fetus because of inflammation, micro-thrombosis, and hypercoagulation. Our study aimed to determine the types and frequency of pathohistological changes in placental tissue in SARS-CoV-2-positive pregnant women and to examine the possible role of oxidative stress in the prognosis of the delivery and its maternal and fetal complications. Pesticides used in agriculture can contaminate foods like fruits and vegetables, posing health risks to consumers and highlighting the need for effective residue monitoring. This study explores aqueous two-phase systems (ATPSs) comprising phosphonium or ammonium ionic liquids (ILs) combined with ammonium sulfate as an alternative pre-treatment method for extracting and concentrating the pesticides clomazone, pyraclostrobin, and deltamethrin from strawberry samples. Liquid-liquid equilibrium measurements for each ATPS were conducted, followed by extraction experiments to determine the most efficient systems for pesticide extraction.

This study investigates the impact of changing parameters on the photocatalytic degradation of carbofuran (CBF) using laser-treated TiO nanotube arrays on a Ti mesh under simulated sunlight irradiation and assessing toxicity during photocatalytic degradation. Various parameters, including the stirring effect, light intensity, initial CBF concentration, and variation in the active surface area of laser-treated TiO photocatalysts, were examined to determine their impact on degradation efficiency.
