Background: Mycobacterium abscessus (MABS) is a clinically significant nontuberculous mycobacterium, and its drug resistance poses substantial therapeutic challenges. Comprehensive genomic and phenotypic analyses are essential for elucidating the mechanisms underlying this resistance and enhancing understanding of its epidemiology.
Methods: Whole-genome sequencing (WGS) using the Illumina platform was conducted on 61 clinical MABS isolates obtained from patients in Thailand.
Unlabelled: Isoniazid-resistant tuberculosis (Hr-TB) is an important drug-resistant tuberculosis (TB). In addition to rifampicin, resistance to other medications for Hr-TB can impact the course of treatment; however, there are currently limited data in the literature. In this study, the drug susceptibility profiles of Hr-TB treatment and resistance-conferring mutations were investigated for Hr-TB clinical isolates from Thailand.

Objectives: This study investigated the differences in epidemiological and clinical data, and antimicrobial susceptibilities among different subspecies of Mycobacterium abscessus complex (MABSC) clinical isolates at a medical school in Thailand.
Methods: A total of 143 MABSC clinical isolates recovered from 74 patients were genotypically analyzed for erm(41), rrl, and rrs mutations, and antimicrobial susceptibilities were determined using a broth microdilution method. Patient characteristics and clinical outcomes were reviewed from the medical records.
Gastrointestinal helminth infection likely affects the gut microbiome, in turn affecting host health. To investigate the effect of intestinal parasite status on the gut microbiome, parasitic infection surveys were conducted in communities in Nan Province, Thailand. In total, 1047 participants submitted stool samples for intestinal parasite examination, and 391 parasite-positive cases were identified, equating to an infection prevalence of 37.
