Background: Higher rates of radiation therapy (RT) noncompletion may be associated with certain demographic groups in patients with prostate cancer (PC). We examined disparities in noncompletion and receipt of shorter RT regimens among disaggregated Asian American and Pacific Islander groups in the US.

Methods: We performed a retrospective cohort analysis of all patients diagnosed with localized PC (2004-2017) in the National Cancer Database who identified as White, East Asian, Southeast Asian, Pacific Islander, or South Asian who were treated with definitive RT.

Objective: The objective of this study is to present a cross-sectional analysis of cancer burden in the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) region and explain unique characteristics of its cancer burden as compared with the rest of the world.

Methods And Analysis: Using publicly available data from the Global Cancer Observatory (GCO) and the World Bank, we collected cancer statistics and population statistics for Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, the Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka from 2017 to 2022.

Metabolic differences between males and females have been well documented across many species. However, the molecular basis of these differences and how they impact tolerance to nutrient deprivation is still under investigation. In this work, we use to demonstrate that sex-specific differences in fat tissue metabolism are driven, in part, by dimorphic expression of the Integrated Stress Response (ISR) transcription factor, ATF4.
