The implementation of Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) has increased in the last few decades, creating a deep impact on ocean governance and local fishery communities. Despite their effectiveness being actively debated, initial results show that this spatial management could promote the recovery of depleted marine communities and species, and ecosystem services such as increased fishing profits, especially in nearby areas. This could potentially maintain the economic levels of local and regional under-pressure economies while improving the overall marine biodiversity.

Background: The avian pathogen Gallinarum causes avian typhosis in laying hens, leading to high mortality rates among adult birds, which poses a significant problem in the poultry industry. Various products, such as vaccines, antibiotics, probiotics, and disinfectants, are commonly used to prevent and control the disease on farms. An alternative to these products is the use of bacteriophages, which may effectively prevent the colonization of Gallinarum.

Unlabelled: Mononuclear phagocytes facilitate the dissemination of the obligate intracellular parasite . Here, we report how a set of secreted parasite effector proteins from dense granule organelles (GRA) orchestrates dendritic cell-like chemotactic and pro-inflammatory activation of parasitized macrophages. These effects enabled efficient dissemination of the type II lineage, a highly prevalent genotype in humans.

Mononuclear phagocytes facilitate the dissemination of the obligate intracellular parasite Here, we report how a set of secreted parasite effector proteins from dense granule organelles (GRA) orchestrates dendritic cell-like chemotactic and pro-inflammatory activation of parasitized macrophages. These effects enabled efficient dissemination of the type II lineage, a highly prevalent genotype in humans. We identify novel functions for effectors GRA15 and GRA24 in promoting CCR7-mediated macrophage chemotaxis by acting on NF-κB and p38 MAPK signaling pathways, respectively, with contributions of GRA16/18 and counter-regulation by effector TEEGR.

Objective: To describe the health-care resources implemented during the Italian Formula 1 Grand Prix (F1GP) and to calculate the patient presentation rate (PPR) based on both real data and a prediction model.

Methods: Observational and descriptive study conducted from September 9 to September 11, 2022, during the Italian F1GP hosted in Monza (Italy). Maurer's formula was applied to decide the number and type of health resources to be allocated.
