Knee arthroplasty compared with joint distraction for osteoarthritis: a phase III randomized controlled trial.

Aims: Knee joint distraction (KJD) has been proposed as a joint-preserving alternative to arthroplasty. The objective of this study was to evaluate the clinical and cost-effectiveness of KJD compared to arthroplasty for knee osteoarthritis.

Methods: This phase III multicentre, pragmatic, randomized controlled non-inferiority trial recruited adults aged ≤ 65 years with symptomatic osteoarthritis refractory to non-surgical treatment and suitable for knee arthroplasty.

Integrating Mental Health Management into Empowerment Group Sessions for Out-of-School Adolescents in Kenyan Informal Settlements: A Process Paper.

This article presents processes for developing contextualized training procedures to better appreciate partnership, capacity-building experiences, and specific implementation challenges and opportunities for mental and public health teams. The program enrolled 469 out-of-school adolescents to participate in the integration of youth mental health into health and life-skill safe spaces. The teams utilized various methods to achieve process outcomes of restructuring and adapting curricula, training youth mentors, and assessing their self-efficacy before integrating the intervention for 18 months.

National Monitoring for Menstrual Health and Hygiene: Is the Type of Menstrual Material Used Indicative of Needs Across 10 Countries?

Surveys monitoring population health and sanitation are increasingly seeking to monitor menstrual health. In the absence of established indicators, these surveys have most often collected data on the type of menstrual material used. This study investigated whether such data provides a useful indication of women's menstrual material needs being met.
