Introduction And Aims: Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic disease (MASLD) is the most common cause of chronic liver disease in children and adolescents. The development of MASLD is associated with dietary habits, and dietary intake characteristics are a relevant risk factor. The aim of the present study was to analyze dietary intake characteristics in children and adolescents and study how diet varies in subjects with and without MASLD.

The salt-inducible kinase (SIK) family encompasses three isoforms, SIK1, SIK2, and SIK3, which are members of the AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) family of serine/threonine protein kinases. SIK inhibition has emerged as a potential therapeutic approach across multiple indications, as SIKs regulate a diverse set of physiological processes such as metabolism, bone remodeling, immune response, malignancies, skin pigmentation, and circadian rhythm. Within isoform-specific SIK inhibitors there is a need to understand the distinct role of each protein, and here we describe the first SIK1 selective inhibitors.

Pemphigus vulgaris (PV) is an autoimmune blistering disorder, which is caused by the loss of desmosomal cell-cell adhesion, initiated by the binding of IgG antibodies against the desmosomal components desmoglein (Dsg)1 and Dsg3. Dsg3-reactive CD4 T helper (Th) cells, in particular follicular Th (Tfh) cells, play a central role in autoantibody production by Dsg3-specific B cells. In this study, we challenged the concept that distinct Dsg3-reactive CD4 T cell subsets are critical in PV pathogenesis utilizing phenotypical and functional state-of-the-art ex vivo assays.

Background: To assess the efficacy and safety of tenecteplase in patients presenting within 24 hours of symptom onset with a large vessel occlusion and target mismatch on perfusion computed tomography.

Methods: ETERNAL-LVO was a prospective, randomized, open-label, blinded end point, phase 3, superiority trial where adult participants with a large vessel occlusion, presenting within 24 hours of onset with salvageable tissue on computed tomography perfusion, were randomized to tenecteplase 0.25 mg/kg or standard care across 11 primary and comprehensive stroke centers in Australia.

Coagulant Moringa oleifera lectin (cMoL) is one of the compounds involved in the application of M. oleifera seeds for traditional water treatment methods. The present study highlights the new biotechnological potential of cMoL lectin as an antifungal agent against Cryptococcus neoformans B3501 and H99 and Cryptococcus gattii R265 strains.
