Objective: To identify correlates of deliberate self-harm (DSH) in youth with autism and/or intellectual disability (ID).

Method: This retrospective longitudinal cohort analysis used claims data for youth ages 5 to 24 years continuously enrolled in Medicaid in a midwestern state for 6 months and diagnosed with autism and/or ID between 2010 and 2020 (N = 41,230). Cox proportional hazards regression examined associations between demographic and clinical variables and time to DSH for study cohorts with autism and/or ID.

Objectives: Vascular surgery (VS) is a high-risk specialty, with complex procedures and multi-morbid patients. Medicolegal claims offer insight into recurring clinical vulnerabilities. We aimed to analyse litigation trends in VS over the past decade in England, and the potential impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Understanding epithelial lineages of breast cancer and genotype-phenotype relationships requires direct measurements of the genome and transcriptome of the same single cells at scale. To achieve this, we developed wellDR-seq, a high-genomic-resolution, high-throughput method to simultaneously profile the genome and transcriptome of thousands of single cells. We profiled 33,646 single cells from 12 estrogen-receptor-positive breast cancers and identified ancestral subclones in multiple patients that showed a luminal hormone-responsive lineage, indicating a potential cell of origin.

The quantification of sucrose and other carbohydrates in sugar beet roots is essential prior to their processing to assess sugar production yield. In this study, a rapid, highly sensitive and selective ultra-fast liquid chromatography coupled with time of flight mass spectrometry (UFLC-ToFMS) method was developed and validated for the simultaneous analysis of monosaccharides (fructose, glucose-galactose), a disaccharide (sucrose), and a trisaccharide (raffinose). The method showed 1000-fold higher sensitivity, with LOD and LOQ ranging between 0.

Objectives: The Femoral Neck System (FNS) is a fixed-angle side plate device approved for use in fixation of femoral neck fractures. The FNS perforates the lateral cortex of the subtrochanteric femur, which may increase the risk of postoperative subtrochanteric fractures compared with the inverted triangle cannulated screw (CS) construct. The purpose of this biomechanical study was to compare forces required to create subtrochanteric fractures in FNS and CS constructs in a synthetic bone biomechanical model.
