Background: Fibroblast activation protein (FAP)-targeting radioligands have gained attention for the ability to image multiple tumor types. Current FAP-targeting radioligands are labeled with Ga and F, but their short half-lives limit distribution range after production and later time-point imaging. This study describes the development Kalios, a novel class of NODAGA-conjugated FAP-targeting radioligands labeled with the cyclotron-produced Copper-61 (t = 3.

Herbal formulations (HFs) are not properly regulated in Nigeria, and this is typical of several African countries. This is in addition to the lack of appropriate scientific/medical tests required for medications. Most producers/marketers lack evidence of the product's safety and effectiveness raising concerns on the overall safety of the HFs which are widely used across the country.

Cumulus cells (CCs) are crucial during cumulus-oocyte complex (COC) growth, maturation and fertilization. Analysis of gene expression in CCs of in vitro matured oocytes help to identify non-invasive biomarkers of oocyte quality. This study compared transcriptomic profiles of CCs from matured oocytes of prepubertal (<6 months) and adult (3-5 years) sheep.

Background: Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the second-leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the United States. Rural living poses special challenges to CRC screening and management, but it is unclear whether rural/urban disparities persist within the Veterans Health Administration (VHA).

Methods: This study used VHA data to examine characteristics and mortality among veterans with newly diagnosed CRC.

Aims: Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) is the most common cause of chronic liver disease in the United States. MASLD can progress to liver cirrhosis and is associated with an increased risk of major acute cardiovascular events (MACE). This study aimed to examine the association of glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists (GLP1-RA) use with liver disease progression, MACE, and death from any cause among people with hepatic steatosis.

Copper is an important element involved in the catalysis of many vital reactions in the body of an organism. However, excessive copper causes cellular damage by accelerating the production of reactive oxygen species and disrupting the physiological reactions. The present research was conducted to determine the toxicological effects including oxidative stress profile, concentrations of anti-oxidant enzymes and genotoxicity of three different doses (0.

Background: von Willebrand disease (VWD) is characterized by absence or reduction of plasma von Willebrand factor (VWF) levels or reduced protein function. While the spectrum of causative VWD mutations is vast, there has been limited characterization of variants occurring within the D4-C6 domains of VWF that comprise the C-terminal portion of the molecule.

Objectives: In this study, we investigated the impact of 9 putative low-frequency VWD-causing variants on VWF function.

Background: Glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists (GLP-1RAs) have shown efficacy in reducing cardiovascular events in patients with diabetes mellitus (DM), but conflicting evidence exists regarding their impact on cardiac arrhythmias. Whereas some studies associated GLP-1RAs with arrhythmogenesis, other studies suggested a decreased association with atrial fibrillation (AF).

Objective: The aim was to compare the risk of incident AF after initiation of GLP-1RAs versus dipeptidyl peptidase-4 inhibitors (DPP4is), as active comparators, in patients with DM.

Ever since Tsallis introduced Tsallis entropy theory, it has been applied to a wide variety of topics in physics and chemistry, with new applications being discovered annually. The amount of research suggests that the Tsallis entropy concept holds significant potential. This paper introduces weighted cumulative residual Tsallis entropy (WCRTE) and weighted cumulative past Tsallis entropy (WCPTE), as well as their dynamic counterparts for the concomitants of $ m $-generalized order statistics ($ m $-GOSs) derived from the Farlie-Gumbel-Morgenstern bivariate family.

The red-eared slider turtle inhabits environments ranging from freshwater to semiterrestrial settings. Understanding the sensory adaptations of this species is crucial, particularly concerning its limb skin, which plays a key role in environmental interaction and survival. This study presents the first detailed identification of scale sensilla and sensory corpuscles in the red-eared slider's limb skin, offering insights into their innervation and distribution.

The Egyptian tortoise (Testudo kleinmanni) exhibits remarkable adaptations; yet, significant gaps remain in the understanding of taste bud distribution and the molecular characteristics of its tongue cells. The unique adaptations were investigated using immunofluorescence with six specific antibodies, light microscopy, and scanning electron microscopy. Vimentin and nestin identified superficial taste buds in the lingual body, notably larger than those in the lingual root.

Background: Gastric ulcer is commonly affected by several causes, including stress. This work examined the gastroprotective effects of ellagic acid (EA), in stress-induced gastric ulcers in Wistar rats.

Methods: Forty male Wistar rats were categorized into five groups: a normal control group, a stress-induced ulcer group, and three groups receiving EA treatment (5 mg, 10 mg, and 20 mg).

The zero-inflated negative binomial regression (ZINBR) model is used for modeling count data that exhibit both overdispersion and zero-inflated counts. However, a persistent challenge in the efficient estimation of parameters within ZINBR models is the issue of multicollinearity, where high correlations between predictor variables can compromise the stability and reliability of the maximum likelihood estimator (MLE). We propose a new two-parameter hybrid estimator, designed for the ZINBR model, to address this problem.

Background: The radiolabeled somatostatin receptor subtype 2 (SST) antagonists LM3 (Phe(4-Cl)-c(DCys-Tyr-DAph(Cbm)-Lys-Thr-Cys)-DTyr-NH) and JR11 (Phe(4-Cl)-c(DCys-Aph(Hor)-DAph(Cbm)-Lys-Thr-Cys)-DTyr-NH) are under clinical evaluation for imaging and treatment of neuroendocrine tumors. These peptides differ at position 3, where LM3 contains Tyr, while JR11 incorporates Aph(Hor). The amino acid at this position is crucial in the design of somatostatin ligands, agonists and antagonists, influencing affinity and receptor subtype specificity.

Background: The use of glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists (GLP-1RA) has exponentially increased owing to their favorable cardio-renal-metabolic effects. Some studies have raised concerns about a potential association between GLP-1RA use and malignancy. This study aimed to examine the association between GLP-1RA use and risk of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).

Introduction: Hereditary angioedema (HAE) is a genetic rare condition characterized by recurrent attacks of swelling that might be potentially life-threatening. Recurrence and severity of attacks may impact psychological life, expectations and productivity. We aim to review the state-of-the-art of HAE preventive and on-demand treatment of non-biologic drugs, providing a perspective of their personalized use and development.

Corchorus olitorius (CO) is a tropical herb that contains a water-soluble hydrocolloid (COH) with promising viscosity-enhancing properties. This study evaluates COH as a hydrophilic matrix-former for oral sustained-release tablets. COH was extracted and characterized using FTIR, TGA, DSC and PXRD, confirming its functional groups typical of acidic polysaccharides and amorphous nature.

The Cholistan Desert of Pakistan harbors unique reptile diversity, including ecologically significant agamid lizards of the genera Calotes and Uromastyx, yet their genetic structure remains poorly understood. This study presents the first mitochondrial DNA barcode assessment of these taxa in the region, analyzing 658 bp of the cytochrome c oxidase I (COI) gene from 19 specimens collected across seven desert sites. We employed a combination of distance-based (p-distance, K2P) and phylogenetic methods (Maximum Likelihood, Bayesian Inference) to evaluate genetic diversity and evolutionary relationships.
