Producing butter from yogurt is known as a traditional way practiced in Iran and elsewhere, particularly in rural areas. Lactic acid bacteria (LAB) with probiotic and cholesterol-lowering properties were isolated from traditional butter collected in different regions of Iran. Then, isolates were identified and applied as adjunct culture in industrial butter production.

Investigating the interaction of genotype and environment in multi-environment experiments (MET) is one of the reliable techniques to demonstrate the most stable and compatible cultivars. The main contribution of this study is to evaluate the stability and compatibility of rapeseed cultivars using additive main effects and multiplicative interaction (AMMI) and genotype plus genotype environment interaction (GGE) bi-plot methods for grain yield and oil content. For this purpose, an experiment in a randomized complete block design (RCBD) with three replications was conducted for 10 rapeseed cultivars across 10 environments (five regions in 2 years).

In maple syrup urine disease (MSUD), leucine (Leu) accumulation, and its metabolites cause brain toxicity, and at diagnosis rapid plasma Leu reduction is essential. Valine (Val) and isoleucine (Iso) supplements are necessary to promote anabolism and enable prompt reduction of plasma Leu. Val/Iso supplements are unavailable in Iran, so an alternative source was necessary.

Bio surfactants are natural surfactants that induce emulsification, displacement, increased solubility, and mobility of hydrophobic organic compounds. In this study, the gene expression of biosurfactant production genes by in the presence of sodium dodecyl sulfate coated iron nanostructure (Fe/SDS) were evaluated. Emulsification Index and Surface Tension reduction test to check stability and emulsification the rhamnolipid were done.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the characteristics of dually modified sago starch by acid hydrolysis (AH)-hydroxypropylation (HP). For this purpose, sago starch was modified with the combination by AH (5-20 h hydrolysis times) followed by HP (5%-25% ratio of propylene oxide) processes. The results showed that the dual modification of the sago starch structure didn't have a significant effect on the size of starch granules, and the granule size was in the range of 0.

Introduction: It has been demonstrated that event-related potentials (ERPs) mirror the neurodegenerative process of Alzheimer's disease (AD) and may therefore qualify as diagnostic markers. The aim of this study was to explore the potential of interval-based features as possible ERP biomarkers for early detection of AD patients.

Methods: The current results are based on 7-channel ERP recordings of 95 healthy controls (HCs) and 75 subjects with mild AD acquired during a three-stimulus auditory oddball task.

In this study, the physicochemical, mechanical, and antimicrobial activities of polyethylene (PE) films coated with peppermint (Menthol) and (Carvacrol) essential oil were evaluated. For this reason, PE films were coated with MC-HPMC solution containing different concentrations of menthol and carvacrol (0, 1, 1.5, and 2%), and mechanical, electromagnetic, barrier, and antimicrobial properties of all prepared films were examined.

Superheated water extraction was applied to produce quinoa-barley malt extract. D-optimal combined design was used to optimize the extraction conditions (time (min), solid-water ratio and particle size to obtain maximum protein and carbohydrate content, and minimum turbidity and pH. Quinoa flour (10%-30%), barley malt flour (70%-90%), different particle sizes ( = 420 µm,  = 710 µm), time (15-45 min), and solid-water ratio (0.

We conducted a comprehensive analysis of the phylogenetic, phylogeographic, and demographic relationships of Caspian cobra ( Eichwald, 1831) populations based on a concatenated dataset of two mtDNA genes (cyt and ND4) across the species' range in Iran, Afghanistan, and Turkmenistan, along with other members of Asian cobras ( subgenus Laurenti, 1768). Our results robustly supported that the Asiatic are monophyletic, as previously suggested by other studies. Furthermore, .

In order to investigate the interaction of genotype × trait and relationships among agronomic traits on 12 maize hybrids, an experiment was conducted in a randomized complete block design (RCBD) with three replicates in four regions of Karaj, Birjand, Shiraz, and Arak. Results of analysis of variance indicated that most of the genotypes were significantly different in terms of agronomic traits. Mean comparison by Duncan's method showed that KSC705 genotype was more favorable than other genotypes in all studied regions.
