Aim: To investigate the anti-tumor effects and mechanisms of gecko crude peptides (GCPs) in vitro and in vivo.
Methods: 3-(4,5)-Dimethylthiahiazo (-z-y1)-3,5-di-phenytetrazoliumromide (MTT) assay was applied to measure the effects of GCPs on the HepG2 cell viability. Fluorescence morphology was used to identify apoptotic cells.

SNCA gene is located in a quantitative trait locus for alcohol preference. Alpha-synuclein coded by SNCA gene can regulate the function of dopamine in multiple levels, and dopamine is an important neurotransmitter in alcohol preference. Variation has been found in SNCA gene carried by alcohol-dependent patients.

Introduction: A medical adsorbent for blood purification was developed to specifically adsorb low-density lipoprotein (LDL) from hypercholesterolemia patient's plasma by covalently immobilizing heparin onto the surface of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) with the couplant toluence-2,4-diisocyanate (TDI).
Methods: We used IR to demonstrate the success of covalently immobilizing heparin onto the surface, and investigated its adsorption of LDL, and primarily evaluated its hemo-compatibility using tests for platelet adhesion, the degree of platelet activation and a hemolysis test.
Results: (1) Heparin was successfully covalently immobilized onto the surface, the maximum amount of heparin immobilized on the surface of 1g PVA-1799 granules was about 5 μg; (2) one optimal condition for adsorption of LDL from hyperlipidemia plasma was a pH within the range of 7.

In this paper, some familiar algorithms of edge detection in ultrasound B-scan images are analyzed and studied. The results show that Sobel, Prewitt and Laplacian operators are sensitive to noise, Hough transform adapts to the whole detection, while LoG algorithm's average is zero and it couldn't change the whole dynamic area. Accordingly LoG algorithm is preferable.

Medical tangles caused by the death of women and infants in perinatal period are very normal in the forensic appraisal. The author collected and analyzed 49 cases of these tangles from many aspects, such as sex and age of the dead, hospital,information of autopsy, fault of medical action and so on,and discovered the normal causes of death, medical action's effects and the causes of tangle. It would be useful to the forensic appraisal, settlement and prevention of these medical tangles.
