Integrated Health-Social Hubs for Migrant Women and Infants.

Background And Objectives: Migrant families have reduced access to universal child and family health (CFH) services, including CFH nursing visits, wherein infant and maternal surveillance offers a key opportunity to identify maternal health and child developmental concerns. Evidence is emerging on the effectiveness of integrated health and social care hubs (Hubs) to improve access to CFH services. Our aim was to evaluate the impact of Hubs at 2 sites in Sydney, Australia for migrant women and their infants on attendance to CFH nursing visits until 12 months postpartum for infant and maternal surveillance.

Co-Producing Patient-Reported Experience Measures With People With Intellectual Disability to Improve Healthcare Quality and Outcomes: The 'Listen to Me' Project Protocol.

Introduction: Intellectual disability, defined by significant limitations in both intellectual functioning and adaptive behaviour with onset during the developmental period, affects an estimated 2% (108 million) of people worldwide. People with intellectual disability experience major health inequity, poor health outcomes and premature deaths, with mortality rates that are 7-12 times higher than the general population. Patient-reported experience measures (PREMs) are used worldwide to target improvements in healthcare delivery.

Neurodevelopmental screening in children with early-onset spinal muscular atrophy in the treatment era: a strengths-based cohort study.

With transformative advances in diagnostic and therapeutic approaches in spinal muscular atrophy, the long-term neurodevelopmental outcomes of children with, or predicted to have, spinal muscular atrophy type 1 are essential to evaluate. In this single-centre cross-sectional study, development in children with/at-risk of spinal muscular atrophy type 1, aged 1-66 months, was assessed using parent-reported Ages and Stages Questionnaires® (ASQ-3™). Risk of autism spectrum disorder (ASD), parental distress, sociodemographic and clinical characteristics were also evaluated.

Implementation Fidelity of a Smartphone Application for Population-Based General Movement Assessment: The Early Moves Study.

Objective: To describe the infant and maternal characteristics of the Early Moves cohort and to assess representativeness to the general population, and to evaluate the implementation fidelity of an application-based collection of General Movement Assessment (GMA) videos at writhing and fidgety age.

Study Design: Prospective observational study. Mothers who had recently delivered or were enrolled to deliver at maternity hospitals in Perth, Western Australia, were recruited from November 2019 to December 2023.

Infant psychomotor development after intrauterine exposure to hypertensive disorders of pregnancy: a P4 study.

This study aimed to assess the impact of hypertensive disorders of pregnancy on infant neurodevelopment by comparing 6-month and 2-year psychomotor development outcomes of infants exposed to gestational hypertension (GH) or preeclampsia (PE) versus normotensive pregnancy (NTP). Participating infants were children of women enrolled in the Postpartum Physiology, Psychology and Paediatric (P4) cohort study who had NTPs, GH or PE. 6-month and 2-year Ages and Stages Questionnaires (ASQ-3) scores were categorised as passes or fails according to domain-specific values.
