Background: According to the standard definition, a hallucination is 1) a perceptual experience occurring in the absence of a relevant perceptual object, 2) it has the sense of reality of a veridical perception, and 3) it is unwilled and not under voluntary control of the hallucinator. Objectives: The aim of this study was to compare in vivo and ex vivo Photon Counting CT (PCCT) of subchondral bone features in patients with knee osteoarthritis (KOA).
Materials And Methods: Pre-surgery in vivo and post-surgery ex vivo PCCT of the tibial plateau from participants with severe KOA referred to arthroplasty surgery from January 2022 through September 2023 were compared. Linear regression and Bland-Altman plots were used to assess correlation and agreement between in vivo and ex vivo measures of bone volume fraction (BV/TV), trabecular thickness (Tb.

Background And Purpose: The optimal duration of antibiotic prophylaxis for reducing serious adverse events (SAEs) after total hip arthroplasty (THA) is unclear. We aimed to assess the comparative effectiveness of different strategies of antibiotic prophylaxis in preventing SAEs after THA.
Methods: We searched Medline, Embase, CENTRAL, and the Clinical Trial Registration Database for randomized controlled trials evaluating antibiotic prophylaxis in patients undergoing primary THA.
Background And Purpose: Periacetabular osteotomy (PAO) is a major surgical procedure, yet data on early postoperative complications and hospitalizations remains limited. We aimed to report postoperative complications within 90 days using the modified Clavien-Dindo classification system. Our secondary aim was to report the peri- and postoperative complications observed in patients with length of hospital stay (LOS) exceeding 4 days or readmitted within 90 days following PAO.
