Pneumonia, an acute lower respiratory infection, is the single largest infectious cause of death in children worldwide. In this study, we aimed to assess the treatment practices of parents/caregivers for the management of pneumonia in children under 5 years of age in a rural community of West Bengal and to determine the associated causal factors. About 200 children were randomly selected by the multi-stage sampling method from two health and wellness centers.

Peripheral neuropathic pain, arising from peripheral nerve injuries, remains a significant clinical challenge because of complex pathophysiology and limited treatment options. Conventional treatments primarily provide symptomatic relief, failing to address underlying nerve damage. The extracellular matrix (ECM) plays a vital role in nerve regeneration by offering structural support and biochemical signals that regulate Schwann cell behaviour, axonal growth and microenvironment remodelling.

Growing ecological and public health issues brought on by the increasing presence of novel organic contaminants in wastewater need the development of innovative remediation solutions. It's usually challenging for conventional treatment methods to effectively collect these contaminants, which include pharmaceuticals, personal care products, and industrial chemicals. Scientists are, therefore, concentrating on innovative material to increase the efficiency of adsorption and removal.

While CD19-directed CAR T-cell therapy represents a transformative immunotherapy for relapsed/refractory large B-cell lymphoma (r/r LBCL), more than 50% of patients ultimately progress or relapse. Recently, the International Metabolic Prognostic Index (IMPI) - incorporating age, stage, and metabolic tumor volume (MTV) - was shown to improve prognostication for LBCL frontline treatment. Here, we examine its utility to predict toxicity and survival in CAR-T recipients.
